Another prayer

I pray we stop wasting WC slots, giving it to carpenters. The WC is over for 3African teams but i refuse to be distracted. The step up by the 2nd choice Gk of Cameroon is commendable. Against Brazil again.

Haaa

If you talk now, they will say Uzoho/Maduka will best this guy in a competitive game

I'm waiting for them to deny this

You are now contradicting yourself. You said Tiki taka is not possession football, and now you are saying tiki taka is a possession football system.

I have tried to make it easy for you. We have possession football. And then Guardiola came with a brand of heavy possession football. Like you can see in that 15 minutes stats that showed a 99% dominance of the ball.

Now Guardiola played such with Barcelona, Bayern and now City.

So when you say Manchester City does not play time taka, you are actually referring to the possession heavy brand of play, which is totally not true, when we have one of the highest percentage in Europe.

So you were wrong at that.

Finito.
Read correctly

Possession football ≠ Tiki-taka. It does not EQUAL it

Maybe you no go science class sha grin

Again, A possession heavy brand of play is not Tiki-taka [Tiki-taka is not the only system of possession heavy football] and I gave you teams that played possession heavy play that are not disciples of that system!

But if ighalo is on a good run of form, why not drop someone like that proud idiotic penalty misser for Ighalo
You already have Osimehn, Moffi and Onuachu in the team yet you still want to drop Dennis for Ighalo. Do you even understand how coaches picked their squads for major tournament?

Thought I stated it. It happened in a fifteen minutes period.
Well, i didn't see that match when it happened

All 99% possession could have been in MCity's half of the field and full of backpasses

Except you have other stats that can give that possession a better meaning

Success covers a multitude of sins.

If Moses had scored that chance in Kumasi you'll probably be hearing how Eguavoen is a new Westerhof incarnate.

This is not true.
I heavily criticised Eguavoen before his first match at the last AFCON, even while we had a winning streak, my criticisms for him did not cease.

Results alone don't move me, patterns do.

Bro that wasn't a statement to sub anybody.

I was just referring to generality of Nigerians who judge coaches based on results whether the team plays well or not.

Fifteen minutes, 99% possession says it all. Guardiola plays a heavy brand of possession football which is similar to the kind he played in Barcelona.

You are not saying anything. Trying to shift gear, does not change nothing.

Tiki taka is possession football. Enrique plays Taka, which is an offensive brand of possession football. No matter the sign you throw in, it does not change that the brand of football played by Guardiola is possession football.

I have broken it down for you. If you want me to explain it further, I will.

You were wrong to think Guardiola brand of football is not similar.

U need to get updated. AD has been on an historic run as of late. He dropped 43 points yesterday and Giannis had 40. Even LeBron and Westbrook were balling. It was one of the best games of the season so far.

Tiki-taka is NOT all there is to possession football

This is why not all possessive sides make 800+ passes per game

You saying the same thing again and again doesn't make it correct

There is no context. It is the clearest definition of possession heavy football.

And I watched the game.

Pray tell, which half did this 99% of the passes occur

How many were transitions into the opponents half and final third?

When you provide that we can now deduce if it was pointless pass for the sake of possession

It is from a side that has won the EPL four times in the last five season. You can not decide if their passes are pointless or not.

- Tiki-taka is NOT all there is to possession based football
- Man City doesn't play like Barcelona did

I think Barcelona and Man City played similarly but with a different approaches. At Barcelona, their tikitaka is somewhat predatory. The players will move the ball around until a chance, no matter how little it is present itself and they will capitalise on it. In addition, the Barcelona of that time boast of Pass Masters....Messi, Xavi, Iniesta...
At City, their possession-based football is direct. Here, the movement and positioning well-mastered by the players play a role in carving out the opponent's defence. One reason why Pep started the false-nine tactic.
