I asked who is better not the most effective

No Dey answer question corner corner 🤣🤣🤣

Better is reference. What is the yardstick. What makes better?

My talk has hinged on effectiveness and See Bruyne rules.

Give your parameters for better.

Please, France were one of the favorites. France had already made the Euros semi final in 1996, two years before that and had a mean squad.

Michel Platini who was local organizing committee chairman already predicted France will win it due to their preparation. It was even televised on one of Nta National shows in preparation.
you lie. The favourite em route to that World Cup was Brazil

France wasn’t even top 5 in ranking of likely winners of that competition

Then Italy,Netherlands,Argentina and Brazil were stacked with world class players

For instance Netherlands had players like cocu, kluivert, davids,de boer brothers, stam, bergkamp, overmas just to mention a few I can remeber

he didn’t perform at that World Cup but made fifa’s all star team of the tournament, MVP and won the balon d’or that same year?

Go sitdon abeg 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Iniesta and de bruyne who is better? No run from this one 🤣🤣🤣🤣

That Zidane ballon d'or in 98 was the joke of the century.

Ronaldo De Lima was already amazing before the world cup. Was by far better than Zidane. During the world cup, Ronaldo De Lima was brilliant and scored five goals.

Ronaldo De Lima played all games, seven. Zidane missed threw games.

So at what point did Zidane become world best. Zidane was not even better than Del Piero that year. Del Piero just failed to score in the world cup, if not he was the man for Juventus.

It is a mystery how Zidane confused everyone but me.

When you say who is better, to me it is effectiveness. Effectiveness is having the ability to help your team win.

De Bruyne rules in this.

they were never among the favourites rather emerged as surprise of the tournament with Croatia that finished 3rd

Many tagged the French triumph in that world cup as fluke but only start taking them serious when they won euro 2000

I wonder how it was a fluke. They had made semi finals in the Euros before that.

European football has evolved to over-emphasize efficiency over flair ...giving us some of the boring functional teams we see today.

Zizou helped France achieve what their star studded counterparts in the 80's couldn't achieve with Platini.

De Bruyne is an exceptional player but comparing him to Zizou is football blasphemy.
This golden generation of Belgian players have largely underachieved.

Are you sure you really followed that tournament?

Zidane was red carded against Saudi Arabia the second game in which he scored. He missed the game against Denmark and Paraguay in the second round. Yes 1998 wasn't his best tournament but he stood up to be counted for his country when they needed him the most. Same for Euro 2000 and the 2006 World Cup. I can say without any fear of contradiction if Zidane was on the pitch for the penalty shootout in the final against Italy they would definitely have won.

TheGoodJoe:

Zidane had a red card in the first match. Was suspended in the next. The coach dropped him from the third.

So how can he miss all these games and still be the best. Lizarazu, Desailly, Djorkaeff, Petit all had better performances for France as a whole than Zidane.

Simple, he was not the best player for France in the world cup in 98 and he was not even top 3. Zidane was not the best player of the year in1998. He was just gifted it.

The only midfielder that is almost the same with zizou is he’s fellow country man Platini

Zizou was the second coming of Platini

When you're watching Zidane, you're watching Benardo Silva, Gundogan and KDB rolled into one. grin grin grin

KDB's popularity has a lot to do with Pep's brilliance than his own personal quality sef.

Which stat are 'we all running from?' that KDB for all his ability hasn't won anything significant in international and continental club football.

Most of Kevin's stats as impressive as they have been were achieved in domestic competition. However when he gets to higher level football like World Cups, Euros and UCL De Bruyne has just been shown to be one amongst many good players not bosses like Zidane, Messi, Maradona, CR7, Ronaldo de Lima and Pele.

Whether he admits or not, if KDB retires today he'd be remembered as just another good midfielder that passed through the game

He can spill all the blue ink he wants
