I think Bosso should be tried as Eagles boss. The current manager no be am at all.

Had it been he made it to d semis,he would av been a sure candidate for d job

But as things stand..I doubt if Dey would consider him after paisero job is over

But this has been the issue with our attack in this tournament. We rely on long balls from the rear, and because our forwards are fast and physically imposing they overwhelm opponent's defences. Otherwise, they show lack of ideas. Today we did it in few occasions and S.Korea looked vulnerable in those instances. We probably would have beat S.Korea if we just played our game. Of course there are games that wouldn't work.

MetalJigsaw:
Apart from possession we saw a lot of chances around their box but wrong decision making, lack of crosses or cut backs from the wings cost us.

Use both wings to deliver dangerous balls into the centre to unsettle their defense and also instruct your striker to always be in position as much as possible... A header, close range shot, a handball or even a foul will likely occur
.

These are very drastic and pragmatic clues that bosso should have implemented in search of goal.

But no, they always try to pass or penetrate their way in through the middle on too many occasions which made the attack so predictable.

And again, poor outside shots- either weak or way too wide...

Our attack was so predictable and devoid of creativity or ideas.

When attacking, both wingers are supposed to be on their respective flanks and as wide as possible to create width upfront because this will stretch out the opposition defence and force open some pockets of space for teammates to run into.

This also creates the possibility of a shooting chance for the ball holder.

These are very important and simple tactics that bosso failed to implement in this game and it cost us.

So disappointing.

But not a bad outing.

Thank you
TheSuperNerd:
He's easily my most favorite player in the squad. And he tops the list of my finest 6 talents from this team.

He is a defender but he has the highest ceiling for me. Even higher than Daga.

You spoke exactly what was on my mind about our attack.

TheSuperNerd:
The Nigerian Odds-Defying Campaign ends at the FIFA U20 WC. Some positives and some negatives.

Another U20 WC Quarter finals placing for Ladan Bosso after he attained same in 2007 losing out to Chile.

Negatives:
>>Ladan had to wait till today to play his most balanced midfield 3 from the start and although they did well, one KO game isn't enough for them to gel enough and play beyond what they showed today. He missed it when he was slow to recognising his strongest midfield 3.

>>The team obviously had an attack problem from the U20 Afcon and it reared its Ugly head again at this World Cup. No real quality in that attack department except perhaps Haliru Sarki who never failed to impress and cause mayhem off the bench. He was missed today.

Look at Emmanuel Umeh for instance. Can give assists, can drive forward and cause trouble with his direct plays but when it comes to finishing, he is damn too poor. Missed 2 huge chances today. What else were we to expect from a lad who bagged only 1 goal in 14 appearances for his clubside? Just too poor in front of goal. Not just him, the entire attack department was below average.

>> Bosso obviously doesn't know what to do with so much possession. Having possession is one thing, but knowing what to truly do with it is another. His tactical limitations showed again today.

>> On twitter I was in the middle of dropping my thoughts on the Korean strategy before they stung us. I had to cancel. But I drop it here.

The Koreans let us do all the playing until about the 80th min or so when they started coming at us and trying to grab a late winner. Our defence saw us over the line in those near shaky moments but the Koreans finally got their goal in the early moments of extra time from a cornerkick and it was clear they were running on reserved energy due to the fact that all they had to do was sit back and allow us exhaust ourselves trying to break them down.

The Koreans paced themselves well. They really managed their energy game plan well against a physically superior opposition and WON!!! They were smart and we weren't.

>> The Delusions that this team was gonna go all the way to the U20WC Title without a good attack and a mezzala-like midfield profile. It was funny. I feel the team over achieved even. There is an extent to which a team, who's built on defensive solidity, can attain.

Positives:

>> Like I rightly anticipated long before the tournament began, the midfield and CB pairing lived up to expectations and were the only reasons alongside the GK why I kept good interest in Bosso's side.
Benjamin Frederick, Abel Ogwuche, Daniel Daga, Victor Eletu, Tochukwu Nnadi, Chijioke Aniagboso are the true high yield potential talents of this team. They are the topmost Positives.
Perhaps I should also give mention to Haliru Sarki who was the only consistent true performer in our attack all tournament.

>> We have 3 genuine midfield talents, 2 genuine defensive talents and a decent GK talentto focus on from this team and groom further going forward.

The Koreans played ultra defense, so I doubt if that would work.

But using the flanks to deliver balls into the area more often as I stated might have gotten us a goal.

Burnley will be good for him too, recall Kompany just managed Anderlecht a few seasons ago. Also see how he improved Tella's game this season.

Nigerians don't have shame

So it's a team of 25+ yr olds that you're calling U20

To think y'all have the guts to praise their football is appealing

When they are playing against their younger brothers, what do you expect?

Seriously, I will continue to down play any performance that come from that team

This statement will only come out when we lose

An Israel u20 v South Korea u20 Final would be a clash of tactics and technicals. They are the two best teams in this tournament. Nonetheless Italy has been very impressive too.

After his £18 million move to the English Premier League in January failed to work out, Southampton forward Paul Onuachu might be loaned back to his former club, KRC Genk.

People forget the last U20 WC Final was between Ukraine and South Korea as well. They are strong at this level.

Not like they play the best football. This team will park the bus with discipline, hit you on the counter and utilise their set pieces.
