If any team wants to break Nigeria's spine completely, just look for a way to take out Alex Iwobi.

That man is the skeleton holding up this team.

Iwobi was actually better in this first half than any match he has played for Nigeria. But I need him to be more quicker and aggressive
He is looking better because unlike the previous matches, he is playing with more freedom than usual. He doesn't need to run much. Just look and razor pass. Simple!! Previous games he was restricted and people kept thinking he's playing an attacking role when he wasn't. Infact he still created chances from deep in that CIV game.

Great match.

I've never seen us this fast. I love it.

This is Ademola's tournament.

Zaidu. Im not gonna criticize you. Your defensive work is great but pls just cross this ball. Abeg na.

Who noticed from the 19th minute our boys has stopped using sanusi wing for crosses

Before the goal came
Even the lady watching beside me noticed. She knows he kills end product. 😂

Remove zaidu??

It seems like his attacking shortcomings has made you forget that he’s an excellent and competent defender
Remove him

Defensively he is giving the guy with dyed hair lot of space to push forward and offensively he is killing our attack

TheSuperNerd:
Zaidu Sanusi goofed in the last offensive play of the first half. His decision making which is his biggest bane offensively came to the fore again. Yes, but he remains key to why this formation stays solid and seemingly unbeatable.

Simon's fantastic run and burst of pace away from his Angolan marker wouldn't happen if Zaidu didn't time his pass perfectly into Simon's path before Simon did the rest in tandem with Osimhen's run into the box drawing 2 Defenders thereby allowing Lookman all that space to shoot and score.

Credits to all the players mentioned in this post. They all played key parts in our first goal today.

We will score more. Like 1 or 2 more. Osimhen is scoring today. I expect it.

I was discussing with a friend just now and I said thg these people are focusing too much on Osimhen which frees Lookman to do damages. They forget Lookman is highly technical and clinical finisher

Iwobi was better on this half but he also need to be in a bit of haste. He seems a bit sluggish

Iwobi.. 9/10
Stop criticizing what isn't there
Commend the guy for the good plays and leave it at that
Nothing will happen to you

If it's uzoho we would have been 1 goal down and that our goal wouldn't hve come because after scoring Angola would be all back defending.

Them no get defence. Our lack of a final ball is what's making this game seem close.

The most absurd thing is that Lookman is not even playing up to 40% today.

Zaidu is doing everything right except the most important thing- pass/cross proper ball!! hmmm

I will after the game but you're right. He's doing exactly what i want him to do and see how his entire game changed. Entirely. Now he has 2 assists.

All previous afcon games na dancing and no end product. He keeps things simple and see sweet game.

Nwabali's injury in the last match was a blessing in disguise. Angolans thought we will field Uzoho. Jpes also quoted that he trust Uzoho. Angolans only read what was going on in the media not knowing that Nwabali was fighting hard to play this game.
