Amuneke backs AFCON call-up for U17 star Kelvin John

Tanzania coach Emmanuel Amuneke has said U17 star Kelvin John has a chance to prove he deserves to feature at the AFCON in Egypt after he was called up to the team's training camp.

Kelvin John scored twice for Tanzania against the Golden Eaglets at the recent U17 AFCON in Dar es Salaam.

“Kelvin John and one U18 goalkeeper I gave them their first call-up to fight for a place in the AFCON team,” Amuneke said.

“Football is all about opportunity and if a player is identified and also given an opportunity, it is now left for him to take the opportunity.

“If you are good, you are good, irrespective of age , every player must pass through the process of adaptation, development and maturity. Even Lionel Messi passed through this process.

Some of the foreign based invited are poor. Henry Offia has no business in the team and from training reports, he is not doing that great. Durugbor was playing in the 3rd division of Sweden, what is he doing there?

See, you can believe what you want. I have no stake in the team apart from being a Nigerian. I am not involved in the football business and i am far away from Nigeria. I do not even know Aigbogun.

I can only make sure the information, i put out here is accurate and 99% of the time, it is. Some of the stuff, i have posted here was before any news outlet posted the information.

There are several other things, i do not post about. If i posted something here, you can take it to the bank.
