Nawa oh. Recall that Ndidi almost scored from one of Musa's corner kicks? It wasn't as if our corners had been poor all along. So he brought him in to come and take a corner kick? Lol

sir moses, drive down the left flank and his initial cross with his left into the box gave us the corner kick in the first instance, so it's not as if Moses didn't contribute to the play. Musa was explosive, left his marker for dead time and again but the end product was zilch.

not that I blame him but I don't think the left wing is the best for him to be honest. he will be very good in a front two set up or he should be played on the right wing. That's how I see it.

Lol. Probably. He does know how to take em corner kicks. Remember the goal against Guinea wink

That is not related to his substitution na. In fact I can almost swear that the South African fullback must have thanked God that our coach subbed out Musa, IMHO that was a poor coaching decision, if the SA keeper didn't do an Akpeyi we would have still been playing now, it is not as of the corner was fantastic it was a poor one that the keeper should be clearing easily

We played a very controlled and measured game

Launched counter attacks at will and could have scored 3 goals if our decision making and finishing was better.

Chukwueze is a baller, repeat after me.

Chukwueze is a baller.

I'm happy we won but it still wasn't a good sub. Thank God Bafana went to sleep and this didn't go to extra time.

All our wingers (Musa, Moses and even Chukwueze) are poor crossers.

Musa provided our best attacking threats. He believed so much in his speed and it worked well. But his final ball was poor. I will still rate him 6/10.

I heard about the Tau guy so I decided to watch him play today. I am still looking for him to be honest. I thought they saud their front 3 were so dangerous. Their defenders and the furman guy played the game.

Their defence tried but Ighalo made things too easy.

Ighalo positioning today was whack. I expected him to do better with the pass from Chukwueze. He lost almost all his Ariel duels and gave one assist to South Africa grin

Been awhile I saw Nigerian team so compact with disciplined defence like today.
Big huge kudos to Rohr for the tactical setup.
But SA owe Nigeria a 2-0 bashing which they must collect in Jo'burg
Congrats to our boys.
I still maintain my stand: Rohr should be kept to help us build a grand team

I still don't get why Musa and Chuks can't switch wings like Vic Mo and Mo Simon used to do then. I know Musa tormented his marker today but it was so glaring he doesn't trust his left foot, not today e start o, and the few times he trusted the foot, na cross to nobody he delivered.

We won and that is the most important thing. Now a question for the house.
What if Rohr had switched our wingers?

Musa - Hmmm baba why na, as you play reach ehn, try dey use ur left cross na, and hit some shots for us abeg...good game....very very good...one word, Nightmare

Samu - hmmmm cool starboy...finish.

It wasn't a good switch. We needed someone to make runs in behind something Moses Simon doesn't do.

The South Africans attacked through the right wing because they noticed Ahmed was not helping Collins and succeeded in getting a goal as a result of that.

What Rohr needed to do was to bring in a player to support Collins defensively and also attack though he ought to have done that before the equaliser hence the need to introduce Simon.

I don't think Onyekuru was the best option to nullify the South African's tactics of getting the ball through Collin's wing.

You can see after Simon Moses came on he did the job very well and there was balance.

It was all about tactics.

I do not know if the coach makes the decision about that but you are right, that's something they should work on badly. Musa on the other side would have run that guy ragged and his final balls would have been a lot better, but in this case he had to cut back time and time again spoiling his flow, maybe they should really switch their wings and let that Musa guy do his thing
