Nah what makes Auba elite is his movement. Laca may be the better 'footballer', but I will always pick Auba over him as a CF.
Lacazette's movement is so disappointing. If you're going to be short - at least be explosive or be sturdy. Laca is neither.
I still insist the role he played last season made him look so. Laca is the stronger of the two and his is to win duels while Auba is for finishing.
Laca is a good striker.

Uhmm.... You may be forgetting UCL football as part of Onyekuru's reasons. Monaco are not in the UCL. But I was also hoping Onyekuru to Ligue 1 would be the move he needs to get noticed by the Big Five of EUROPE just like Pepe Nicolas.

charlesemeka85:
No young talented player with ambitions will turn down Monaco in favor of Galatasaray. If onyekuru scored 16 goals in the colors of Monaco last term as he did in Turkey bigger offers would have been on his table now from numerous clubs.

The agents that manages the affairs of our players are all selfish. If he moves to Monaco and perform as he did in Turkey last season his life will automatically change cus bigger teams will be sniffing around him with more juicy offers

I believe all Onyekuru needs is one really good season of 20+ goals in Ligue 1 and he is on his way. The clubs will say he just seems to score every where he goes. Banged goals in Belgium, Turkey and now in France.... They won't even need a second season in Ligue 1 to be convinced.

edi287:

I think the guy is smoking glue. It's not like he'll be paying income tax in Monaco plus he can flex as much as he wants.
Play well for 2 seasons and you're in a super club earning big money.

NIGERIA VS BENIN REP. (NOV. 11): Iheanacho will score goals-Rohr

By Adeleye Adegboye With Agency Report on July 30, 2019

Gernot Rohr is banking on Kelechi Ihenanacho’s new scoring form to help Super Eagles in their November 11 cracker against the Republic of Benin at the yet-to-be-approved venue pointing out that: ”“Kelechi too can score goals.”

“Work has already started and I know that this player Kelechi Iheanacho can still do a good job for us,” noted Rohr. “Kelechi too can score goals and I think that his omission from the AFCON would be a big motivation for him.

“I was talking with him throughout the AFCON because he’s still a congruent part of our team and I know he wants to work harder now because he has understood the professional ways of doing things. I know that Kelechi can be an interesting player for the Super Eagles,” he reiterated.

Rohr said that the omission of Kelechi Iheanacho from the Eagles squad to the 2019 AFCON has helped him return to form quickly.
Iheanacho was dropped from the Nigerian squad to 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt, following his unimpressive season with Leicester City last season.

Iheanacho has now hit the ground running for the Foxes in the pre-season, scoring in back to back games and the former Bordeaux coach said he was constantly in touch with the forward following his exclusion from the squad.

Rohr concluded that the player can return back to his best and become an important player for the national team in the future.

Special Reasons Why Wilfred Ndidi Is An Ideal Candidate for Super Eagles Captaincy

Special Reasons Why Wilfred Ndidi Is An Ideal Candidate for Super Eagles Captaincy

Leicester City star Wilfred Ndidi has ground in leaps and bound in recent years as we have seen on the pitch.

Moving to Premier League side Leicester City from one of the Belgian top clubs Racing Genk was more like climbing a ladder for the player as he was already a hit in Belgium.

Prior to his switch to the Foxes, he scored an incredible goal which was adjudged one of the best goals of the season in Belgium.

All this and many are Wilfred Ndidi’s story as we take a look at why he’s a genuine candidate for Super Eagles captaincy.

His Consistency on the Pitch

The player has got an impressive statistics as is evident for both club and country.

His ever dependence and reliability on the pitch and rightly occupying in the midfield pivot makes him a candidate for responsibility in the future.

We all know that a captain needs consistency in their game to make starting eleven on a consistent basis and this is what Ndidi has done despite the array of budding talents in Nigeria and Leicester City, to say the least at the moment.

Growing Reputation

Wilfred’s net worth has been on the rise in the last couple of months as he continues to shine for Leicester City in EPL.

This has seen the player ranked among the highest Nigerian player based on financial terms while the player keeps his head down and is not looking back on former achievements with hope for the future.

Such quality and aspiration from the player are what the Super Eagles needs going forward even as we crave for the Super Eagles to return its glory days.

Man of the Match Contender

Nigeria is obviously blessed with talents in the country with the scope spreading far and near.

The Super Eagles side have got a lot of quality going forward on their own.

However, a certain player Wilfred Ndidi makes himself a suitable choice for accolades on the Nigerian shirt.

Despite players like Alex Iwobi, Samuel Kalu and Samuel Chukwueze to name but a few, Ndidi had caught the eye many times to swoop man of the match awards.

This is what Super Eagles are made of even as the team needs quality and class in references to a player who can be exemplary on the pitch for the team like Wilfred Ndidi.

You clearly don't watch both well enough.
Laca is actually a better finisher than Aubamayeng. Aubamayeng misses some very easy chances that will want to make you stab him from your TV but because he gets into great scoring positions - it's easy to overlook.
Laca > Auba at finishing.
Auba > Laca at Pace
Auba > Laca at off the ball movement/mobility
Auba > Laca in the air (obviously as he's taller)
Laca > Auba in terms of technical ability/skill
Laca > Auba at shooting.

Three Super Eagles Players That Must Improve Ahead Of AFCON 2021 Qualifiers

allnigeriasoccer.com Jul 31, 2019 1:00 PM

Three Super Eagles Players That Must Improve Ahead Of AFCON 2021 Qualifiers

The AFCON tournament in Egypt has come and gone even as we look forward into the future for great days ahead of the Super Eagles.

With the draw for the 2021 AFCON qualifiers already released, the Eagles team must improve to attain the height expected of them when the qualifiers begin.

Nigeria has been drawn alongside Benin Republic, Sierra Leone, and Lesotho even as preparation must commence without any form of negligence to any of Nigeria’s opponents.

With things looking bright amid the pre-season performance and transfers of the Nigerian players abroad, we evaluate three Super Eagles players that must improve in the days ahead on the Nigeria shirt.

Ahmed Musa

The Super Eagles skipper Ahmed Musa will be charged to lead the Nigerian attack while captaining the side as well following the exit of former Chelsea ace John Obi Mikel.

The exit of Mikel Obi means Musa will be the team skipper for as long as he can be relevant to the Super Eagles side.

However, the players’ performance left more to be desired on the Nigerian shirt during the AFCON as his crosses and final balls were poor by all standards. He failed to register a goal in Egypt.

If he must remain the skipper of the side with William Troost-Ekong and Wilfred Ndidi looking capable coupled with the talents like Samuel Chukwueze, Victor Osimhen, Henry Onyekuru, and Samuel Kalu that are on the rise at the moment he must put in a better shift for the Super Eagles.

If not Musa may find his place taken by another player especially with the emergence of attacking talents like Stephen Odey, David Okereke and Nigeria-eligible prospects like Ademola Lookman and Sheyi Ojo.

Alex Iwobi

The Arsenal man must improve his gameplay if must remain a Super Eagles regular like his Uncle Austin Jay-Jay Okocha.

With talents like Kelechi Nwakali, Tom Dele-Bashiru and Ovie Ejaria coming through the ranks, the Arsenal winger must watch his career and improve for the good.

This is very needful for the player Iwobi even as he embraces the challenge that comes with Arsenal’s recruitment of Ivory Coast international forward Nicolas Pepe.

Alex Iwobi needs confidence and guile to achieve this feat for club and country even when we know he’s got the talent to flourish in the green shirt for the Super Eagles of Nigeria for sure.

Leon Balogun

The last but not least is Balogun who joined Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion from Bundesliga side Mainz 05 in the summer of 2018.

He needs the playing tonic to get back to his best as the lack of first-team football is telling on his promising career.

His howler caused the Super Eagles at the AFCON 2019 in Egypt when his
side took on Madagascar. Rohr's team lost 2-0, a game which Nigerians would not want to remember.

His experience at 30 will be vital for the young Super Eagles side looking forward to something positive for their side in the future.

Onyekuru says he wants to remain in Galatasaray where he won the league and cup double last season.

Super Eagles star Henry Onyekuru has turned down a move to Monaco to remain with Galatasaray where he played last season on loan.

Onyekuru was a subject of an interest from Monaco who had agreed on a €15m deal with the forward’s parent club Everton.

Pulse Sports were told that the forward was set to undergo a medical ahead of the move to the French club but the 22-year-old has turned it down to remain with Galatasaray.

please you see the reason why sometimes this foreign born players entice me more...

just imagine what a promising player is saying...
I am sure if he asked for rohr's opinion...the man would have advise him to opt for Monaco...
playing in Monaco with a goal above 16 per season will fetch him that work permit with ease...now the guy wanna rubbish his promising epl team all because of few gains now

If we can get it right with players selection and availability, this crop of our U23s will definitely be a team to watch in the next Olympics. Just the thought of also having Samuel Kalu, Samuel Chukwueze, Henry Onyekuru and Victor Osimhen in the attack of this Dream Team makes you wonder how delightful it will be to watch them against other U23 teams. New offensive reinforcement for LOSC! The promising striker Sporting Charleroi, Victor Osimhen (20 years) has engaged with the club Lille for the next 5 seasons. The Nigerian international striker, who played in the last African Cup of Nations, signed a contract until 2024.

TWO CAN ONLY 17 YEARS
Born December 29, 1998 in Lagos (Nigeria), Victor Osimhen quickly appeared in the radar of the biggest European clubs thanks in particular to his performances of high level under the jersey of the young teams of Nigeria. First at the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in 2015, but especially at the U-17 World Cup, a few months later, where he became the top scorer (10 goals in 7 games) of a competition that he wins with the young Super Eagles. A precocity that even allows him to be outclassed for the U23 CAN he also raises in the wake, then to be elected the best young African player of the year 2018 by the Confederation of African Football.

FIRST STEPS IN GERMANY, EXPLOSION IN BELGIUM
Such a business card logically opens the doors of the Old Continent. For Victor, it will be first the Bundesliga and VfL Wolfsbourg where the player puts his bags in 2017, just 18 years. Its first steps in Europe are encouraging, but in Lower Saxony, competition is fierce at the forefront (Dost, Gomez, Origi ...). To progress, he is then loaned to Sporting Charleroi at the dawn of the 2018-2019 season. It is there, in the Belgian first division, that the talent of Victor Osimhen is truly revealed. Undisputed holder, the number 45 shines and scores a total of 20 goals in all competitions in one season in the Zebras. Exceptional performances that prompt the Belgian club to lift its option to buy this summer.

BRONZE MEDAL AT CAN 2019
Strong and combative attacker, able to put physical impact and to create spaces, the athletic Nigerian scorer (1m85, 78kg) also has a real quality in the aerial game, while showing a good ball agility at the foot and an interesting overflow capacity. Suffice to say that such a complete profile could not miss an international career and wear the shirt of his country. This has been the case since 2017, the date of his first selection at the Super Eagles, with which he has just climbed on the third step of the podium at the 2019 African Cup of Nations. With the recruitment of Victor Osimhen, the LOSC offers itself a new offensive profile with high potential. The Nigerian striker, who arrives in the North after a more than successful season in Belgium, joins the list of international Lille players, already enjoying significant experience despite their young age. Wish Victor Osimhen welcome to Lille.

Onyekuru has been an Everton player since 2017 although he has never played for the club and has been on loan at two clubs.

The 22-year-old is however about to find another permanent home in Monaco who have agreed on a deal with Everton to sign the Nigeria international.

Henry Onyekuru joined Everton in 2017 but never got to play for the club

According to sources, Onyekuru has agreed personal terms with Monaco and will sign a five-year contract with the Ligue 1 club.

Onyekuru joined Everton in 2017 after his breakout season in Belgium with Eupen where he scored 24 goals in all competition.

The forward however never got to play for Everton due to work permit issues and was sent out on loan back to Belgium to play for Anderlecht.

Henry Onyekuru spent a year on loan at Anderlecht
His loan stint at Anderlecht didn’t go as planned as a knee ligament injury in December 2017 ruled him out of season.

After recovering, he joined Turkish side Galasatary where he impressed, scoring 14 goals in 31 appearances to help his team to a league and cup double.

Is he still going to go??I think Rhor shud talk to him abt it,we all knw y Monaco was poor last season.

Even if he play in d champions league,he shud grab d opportunity, afterall lille weren't playing in d UCL nor were they playing in d uel,but today,Nicolas pepe is Africa most expensive player
