Transfer market website Transfermarkt today, Monday, published the latest market value updates of players in the Belgian First Division A, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

Thanks to his brilliant performances and the fact that he extended his contract with Club Brugge in the first half of the season, Emmanuel Dennis has seen his market value skyrocket, with the striker now valued at €17 million.

The Nigeria international is now the third most expensive player in the whole of Belgium, behind KAA Gent's Jonathan David (€25m) and Club Brugge's Krépin Diatta (€21m).

At the beginning of the 2019-2020 season in July, Dennis' market value was just €7.50 million, meaning his price tag has more than doubled.

Based on his new valuation, he is the fifth costliest Nigerian player behind Wilfred Ndidi (€45m), Alex Iwobi (€32m), Samuel Chukwueze (€30m) and Victor Osimhen (€30m).

Globally, he is ranked number 86 among center forwards and 73rd among players born in 1997.

KV Kortrijk's new kid on the block Terem Moffi now has an updated market value of 1.5 million euros, which is ten times the amount he cost when he arrived in Belgium two months ago.

So you mean Emmanuel Dennis is more valuable than the South African Messi?

Guys, there's an argument going on on Twitter about Nigerian legends

The players in contention are JJOkocha, Kanu Nwankwo and Mikel Obi. Some are arguing that Mikel doesn't belong on the list, claiming JJ carried the team's he plays for and deserves better than to be named alongside Mikel.

Y'all know how I feel about Mikel, so, for the sake of neutrality, do you guys agree with this notion?

Mikel won an AFCON as captain and plated well at WC 2014.

He is a Naija legend. And I'm not counting his U-20 and Chelsea exploits.

Well, IMO, it depends on what the ranking is based on..
Is it overall football career (club and country) or just the national team?
If it is the former, than it is Kanu,Mikel,Okocha in that order. But if it is the later, then Okocha,Mikel,Kanu in that order...

I believe Mikel deserves to be there... He is just underappreciated....

If social media was present the way it was in Mikel days, im sorry to say most of the ones we hail as legends would really look ordinary to us. Nostalgia is tryna be a big decider here. But Mikel belongs..

If its careerwise he ranks there. SEwise thats where the argument can get really crazy. Many would prefer that Enyeama is more a SE legend than Mikel. The love is the difference.

best? That will be stretching it a bit no doubt the most talented but unfortunately he didn't maximize his football gift. Only operated 40 to 50% of his ability most times

if we are to judge each person based on their body of work in club football and the national team then Mikel will be head and shoulders ahead of the other two. Number of trophies won also count for him.

Jay Jay Okocha yes was tremendously Gifted but didn't win a lot of trophies along the way.

Kanu nwankwo for me was overrated. Especially considering his contributions in the green white green. Is just the Olympic gold that he has been living off in the Minds of Nigerians.

Now, it depends on indices used to rate the 3 players. In my opinion Mikel belongs to that class with Kanu and Okocha. So the comparison is valid.

When it comes to club achievements it is: Kanu, Mikel, Okocha.

If it is national Team contributions: Okocha, Mikel, Kanu. Mind u Okocha and Mikel are AFCON winners while Kanu didn't even score any AFCON Goal.

If it is individual brilliance: Okocha, Kanu, Mikel.

We had all three players in the SE at some point.

I keep going back to that 2006 Team, that in addition to the above 3 players had Martin's, Aiyegbeni, Utaka, Odemwingie, Yobo, Taiwo, Odiah, Oruma, Obodo amongst others. With Enyeama, Ejide and Aiyebugba as the 3 goalies.

A great team but the NFF refuses to get a good coach. We had the quality to storm the world in 2006 but we allowed Angola to take us shine.
