His assists make up for his prodigalities. BTW, this isn't about Firmino, but Ighalo

Bro, even as an LFC fan, I can tell you that firmino hasn't been playing well this season...even the assists he is known for has waned in number considerably....

Many LFC fans even want him sold for an out and out nine

Yes. In the 2011/2012 season. Reached the Quarter finals of the Champions league. I think they eliminated a French team. Very fairytale that was. Shocking in fact.

Uzoho is joining from Deportivo La Coruna after the expiry of his loan deal at Omonia Nicosia as you know.

I'm sure you agree this is a fine move and I hope he becomes their #1. They obviously rate him as he was outstanding in the league for Omonia Nicosia before his injury and before Covid eventually struck. Uzoho is with the Biggest and most successful team in Cyprus. Not bad for a young African goalie in a league rated #16 in Europe.

Wow

I love this

Uzoho - APOEL (Cyprus Protathlima)

Okoye - Sparta Rotterdam (Dutch Eredivisie)

Alampasu - Ventspils (Latvian Virsliga)

My wish is all are starters and the rest will follow. Uzoho is expected to start. Alampasu is growing into a starter for his team. Hopefully Okoye fights his way to the #1 role at Sparta. Mad competition for the Super Eagles Gloves will resume where it left off. grin

Good news for him

He may yet play champions league football....

Even the braithwaite he was using as example has scored only 1 goal for Barca

Braithwaite is such a poor example for anything.

The only time people remember Braithwaite is when they want to talk about his resemblance to Chris Brown.

In addition to these guys, we also have Matthew Yakubu. Former Nigerian U-20 goalie now at SKF Sered in Slovakia's first tier, the Fortuna Liga.

He made his senior debut just six days ago for the team.

Fake news

Even I don't believe it @TuttoMercatoWeb are linking him to Liverpool.

Ciro Venerato says Manchester United called his new agent to ask if he has signed for Napoli

Football Italia and DI Marzio says everything is agreed except the agent fees. The new agent wants more money than Napoli are willing to offer.

That's where the English links are coming from, the English can afford the fees.

Well, it kinda matters in a way shaa coz a player like that can become a brand. You want everything to sync. Look at C.Ronaldo and the Number 7. He is now known as CR7. Messi and the Number 10... Some tag him "L10nel" inserting the "10" in his name.

But on another hand, Someone like Josip ilicic dey wear #72 and it is not stopping him from tearing people's nets. Lol

But in all, Jersey numbers do matter in their own ways. For elite teams like Real Madrid, Barca, Man Utd, Liverpool, Bayern, Juventus... the number they assign to you can insinuate or suggest your level of importance to them, the board and to the team.

lol true, ndidi could have gotten no 4 or 6 but he decided to use his genk 25

Nacho is a better striker than joelinton and Sebastian Haller and they are in the epl

Nacho is not meant for the championship Abeg ,Dey talk true

How many goals did Jordan Ayew scores before he got a move to Aston Villa ?

Nacho is better than pukki and will score more then him in that Norwich team ,pukki that’s playing almost all minutes

How does nacho being good connect with Norwich being relegated or not ?

MLS IS BACK TOURNEY UPDATE

Toronto FC’s Akinola sets two records in Montreal Impact victory

The striker becomes the first player to net a Canadian classic treble, as well as the second Reds’ man to score at least twice in successive MLS ties
Two records tumbled for hat-trick hero Ayo Akinola as Toronto FC defeated Montreal Impact 4-3 in Thursday’s MLS is Back Tournament clash.

Having scored twice in the Reds’ 2-2 draw with DC United on Monday, the 20-year-old continued from there – finding the net thrice as Thierry Henry’s men were silenced in the seven-goal thriller.

At ESPN's Wide World of Sports complex, Richie Laryea opened the scoring in the eighth minute thanks to Alejandro Pozuelo’s assist.

LIfe is full of twists. Somehow I had the feeling that this will become a drama.

Meanwhile,
Problems piling up for Osimhen and Napoli
By Football Italia staff

Napoli are refusing to increase the salary already agreed with Victor Osimhen’s previous agent, Lille reportedly reject Adam Ounas as part of the deal and Liverpool dive in with an offer.

Every time Osimhen seems to be close to a deal with the Partenopei, it all falls back into doubt, and today’s developments are just another chapter in the summer saga.

We already reported this morning on the row with Osimhen’s new agent over wages, as Napoli had already agreed €3.5-4m plus up to €2m in bonuses, whereas his latest representative promised to get €5m net per season along with add-ons.

Our sources tell us the issue of image rights have not been resolved either, and anyone with knowledge of Napoli transfer history will realise this is a sticking point that has tanked many a previous deal.

Now L’Equipe maintain that Lille are also not prepared to accept Ounas as part of the transfer fee, demanding the entire €81m in cash, which is frankly unlikely.

Due to the slowdown in negotiations over his salary, Osimhen’s agent also reportedly approached several Premier League clubs to ask if they would like to make a counter-offer.

Il Mattino newspaper point to Manchester United, but Sportitalia, Tuttomercatoweb and French sources maintain Liverpool are more interested.

The journalist Alfredo Pedullà, through his Twitter profile , expressed himself on the negotiation of Napoli and Osimhen. Also dwelling on the appearance of the agents of the tip of Lille.

“There are no scheduled visits with Napoli, it is not done. there are no signatures, the new agent takes time. The last 24 hours have not paid off, despite Lille's strategic announcements. "

“ Osimhen's new agent shuffled the cards he spoke to Liverpool and Manchester United. More with Liverpool. And he asked for time to Napoli who wanted / wants to close and who never planned visits ". We will see what will happen in the next few days. The deal between Osimhen and Napoli, however, does not yet seem clear ... ".

Osimhen needs to take more charge over his managerial affairs. This whole manager debacle is complete nonsense! This deal should've been closed a few days ago.

Well the deal is not official. Osimhen's new agent is free to hold other talks. But I think it is just a strategy to get what they want from Napoli. Will Napoli eventually bulge or will they start to look in the direction of their plan B?

I think everything has to do with lille. They are playing the market to make the most amount of money. Osimhen actually went to Napoli so I'm almost sure he wants to go there. He won't meet those people if he later planned to turn them down, that's just not in his character.
