Nice.

Hopefully, it won't be an empty promise.

Regardless, the seaport should've been sited in Ondo...Lagos is just too congested to keep dragging more flies into one space, while sucking everything out of the rest.

Eko Atlantic is the real deal and everything is working just fine. I'm impressed with the project and I do follow the progress on the internet, via different sources.

However, the seaport should've been sited elsewhere. I just think Lagos needs an identity, not the jack-of-trades and lack of identity these clowns are fostering on it. Eko Atlantic can give it the identity it craves by being the financial hub of west Africa, just as London and New York are. Ports and other crap ought to be moved to the neighbouring states in need of development.

That's just my opinion.

Lagos continues to be the dominant economic hub of the country, kudos to Fashola/Ambode for creating such an investor friendly climate in the state.

No wonder some 'Isreali's' rather die there than return to their rising sun.

You no go hear Fayose for this kind news, what about Mimiko, Aregbesola, Amosun etc. Can't they tap from what Lagos state is doing? Kudos to Obiano's effort also. I wish all our governors begin to take innovative initiatives that could turn their states around for the better.

In this regard, we have successfully placed Lagos on investors’ radar by putting in place effective legal and regulatory frameworks such as the Land Reform Act, Double Taxation treaties, Limited Liability Reviews and the development of Free Trade Zones. Likewise, the on-going judicial reform is aimed at strengthening our laws for the protection of enterprise.

Way to go!

Lagos has nothing to do with SW it belongs mainly to the Ibos. We in the SW need more Federal presence. We need an international airport in the SW as well as a River Osun bridge

The OK Free Trade Zone is located around Olokola, at less than 100km east from Lagos, and covering a zone on both Ondo State and Ogun State.

An area of more than 10.000ha is turned into a state of the art Free Trade Zone with Deep Sea Port. General services and utilities are provided for you by the European Zone Management, so you just need to plug in and start your business!

The large sea front offers space to a State of the Art Deep Sea Port, which will become the gateway to and from Nigeria and will offer an alternative and expansion of the congested Port of Lagos. According to the masterplan, the Zone is divided in several zones, to group and accommodate your business in the best way.

The OKFTZ is managed and developed by OKFTZ Enterprise a Public-Private Partnership composed by Ondo and Ogun state and IPEM. IPEM (International Port Engineering and Management) is a specialised European engineering and investment company, specialised in greenfield developments of Port related infrastructure and Free Trade Zones.

Via our One Stop Service, all your queries are treated by your dedicated customer service representative! You only have one party to speak to, and we manage the rest!

Nigeria Gives the OK to Free Trade

With its abundance of minerals and base materials available and due to its close proximity to the new oil fields, the OK Free Trade Zone in Nigeria’s west coast expects to attract huge levels of investment from a wide range of industries

Situated 100km from Lagos, The OK Free Trade Zone (OKFTZ) in Nigeria will serve as a prime location for investors wanting to set up business in a country whose economy grew by a robust 7.6% last year. The construction of a deep sea port along the OKFTZ, the first of its kind in Africa, will offer a gateway to Europe, Asia, and the United States, and road connections will allow easy access to Lagos and beyond. The OKFTZ is also located close to future offshore oil exploration blocks, making it a hotspot for petroleum-related businesses.

According to Mr. Luk Haelterman, Managing Director of the OKFTZ, there are 27 Free Trade Zones (FTZs) in Nigeria. Currently only 7 or 8 are active. But rather than developing others, he believes that FTZ managers and the government should work to ensure that the existing active FTZs are properly developed. It will require a lot of work and investment to “get them working.” The two primary needs are access and power, both of which are lacking in the majority of FTZs in Nigeria.

There's another deep sea port going up in Ogun and ondo state and even the greenfield refinery too..

Why lekki? Why not badagry? Is lekki the only place in lagos?

Work on Badagry Deep Sea Port, Lagos-Badagry Expressway to start in two months – Ambode

(NAN) Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State says work will commence in the next two months on the proposed Deep Sea Port in Badagry, simultaneously with the 10-lane Lagos-Badagry Expressway project.
Ambode disclosed this on Thursday while on an inspection tour of the Lagos-Badagry expressway, Mile-2 light rail and Badagry deep sea port projects.

He said that the proposed deep sea port was an investment, which meant a lot to the state in terms of job creation and development of new settlements and towns.
