FEC Approves Seaport For Badagry, Lagos by PetmaxFlame: 11:27pm On Aug 03, 2016 |
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the establishment of a seaport in Badagry, Lagos to bring in big vessels into the country. Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, disclosed this to State House correspondents after the meeting presided by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. He stated that the new port would cost $2.58 billion and would be completed in five years. Ministers of Transport and Information, Mr Rotimi Amaechi and Mr Lai Mohammed respectively, described the seaport as a viable infrastructure. The Badagry seaport was said to have been started by the past administration and was abandoned midway. He said that the approval was consistent with the Federal Government’s macroeconomic policy to emphasise on tax income following a fall in the oil revenue. http://www.petmaxflame.com/2016/08/fec-approves-seaport-for-badagry.html 14 Likes

SW aligning with the centre certainly helped in getting a relatively quick approval for this project. This is Nigeria. Work for your interest with your vote. During GEJ period, we could only fold our arms & watch as the PDP govt turned a blind eye to Fasola's years of pleading to fix Oshodi - Apapa road. 113 Likes 1 Share |

I knew with BRF position in the 3 key ministries, Lagos would get lots of favours. Now Lagos state has or intend to have how many seaports About 4 in total in the next 6 years. The Lekki deep seaport is already ongoing. Edited ::: Thanks to naptu2, Lagos is expected to have 7 seaports 1) Apapa Port 2) Tin Can Island Port 3) Lekki Port 4) Badagry Port 5) Ikorodu Port (Lighter Terminal. NPA is working on making it an export port). 6) Ijora Wharf 7) Customs Quay (the original port of Lagos) 64 Likes 2 Shares |

yanabasee: Well, I'm saying that having a lot of SW influence at the federal level probably helped in getting a quick approval for this project. Contrast this with GEJ regime's frustrating tactics concerning the Lekki Seaport project. 66 Likes 6 Shares |

Ask them what they did with all the appointments the ogogoro master poured into their enclave from the unceasing sucking of his balls, they start speaking Indonesian language. They couldn't even mould one block for 2nd Niger bridge from it I laugh in success 123 Likes 11 Shares |
