Lately on NL i've been seeing quite alot of folks using and promoting the term "Arewa republic" - i'd like any knowledgeable person to please enlighten me on what it means, how it started, proponents of this concept and what they stand for. I'd also like to know the take on this issue by the society at large. Thanks.

Arewa refers to the 12 Northern states who are already on an advanced trajectory for separation. In a secular state, they have all gone sharply independent by adopting sharia law above the Nigerian constitution.
Arewa is also the region of Nigeria that has produced every single religious pogrom. Its elite have deliberately kept its population in penury and illiteracy.
We wish them accelerated success in their split from progressive Nigeria.
