vigasimple: This is a skewed analysis I'm tired of listening to Jonathanians always refering to policies or projects conceived by GEJ , that is total nonsense It is one thing to conceive or formulate a policy, however, the most important thing is the implementation. For example, the TSA was initiated by Jonathan but the ineffectual buffoon did not have the strength of character to adopt and implement it because the TSA is against the interest of his corrupt friends. The Chinese are now ready to implement the refinery construction now despite the fact that the discussions started in 2014. They just did not trust GEJ. Your opinion about Buhari is affecting your sense of objectivity. Your hatred for him will not remove him from power sir 6 Likes |

EbukaFran:Every discernible mind need not be told that PDP have some evil up their sleeves. They just dont want the budget to pass so that it will delay to june/july when they always presented their budgets. Also, they have seen Buhari's road map and agenda which they know that if allowed easy passage, would surpass GEJ's record of six years if at all he has anything to show for it. As for SE senators, is a big shame on them. Tomorrow they will say we re being marginalised. Now a carismatic president wants to put them on the map of the country, which PDP has almost deleted in d last administration and they are all seated there like morrons without brains. Baba for 2023. |

EbukaFran:these wailers are becoming so dangerous and big issue to national security. They are ready to go all way to ensure that there is no stability in the country. They cook all kinds of unreasonable stories to incite their naive supporters against the government of the day. They have stolen so much that they can easily buy over the media, and use idiotic social-media warriors to perpetrate their evil act. Therefore its pertinent for the government of the day to keep a close eye on these characters like FFK,FAYOSE and the likes. They stand to lose nothing seeing nigeria goes up in flame, as much as they achieve their political gains. |

Yawns. All I see is someone staring his opinion and people disagreeing with him, basing their disagreement on their perception that the OP is a PDP supporter. It's a shame that this is what we are reduced to, a people so intent and he'll bent on self destruction. So divided than ever, and so vindictive. I wonder if most peeps here are blind to reality on ground. Every single individual is affected by every decision taken by the FG, their actions and inactions paves the path the country takes. Any serious government avoids errors and in case of errors own up to their errors, they don't shift blame, they face up to their responsibilities. Unfortunately the present FG is going about things the wrong way. So what are the facts on ground? The first budget had the rail missing. Why? Did the government then go about having it put back in the right way? For the NASS, are the senators actually working or being ineffectual and getting paid for it? Who is to blame? Who takes responsibility and whose head will roll. I believe these should be our questions. Instead most are screaming wailers and zombies! Both zombie and wailer reside in the same country and are faced with the same issues, yet they refuse to reason together and demand their rights, demand justice, demand equity. Jeez!!! 1 Like 1 Share |

Ballmer: Your hatred for Igbos is glaring. It's terribly crazy! Are you aware that that rail line traverses South West and South South, but merely touches the borders of South East at 2 points. It means it won't make a lot of sense using that rail line to travel from Onitsha to Aba because the distance will be far more than the road distance, but you can use it to travel from Calabar to Benin or from Ore to Lagos, and it won't be father than going by road. Yet in all these things, you chose to focus your attack on Igbos. Despite all you hatred on Igbos, we will keep moving forward. Let that sink into your head. 1 Like |

This poster is talking PDP. For his info and others, two sitting senators, Senator Ashaffa (in a press conference) and John Okon Eno (Cross River) have already come out to confirm that the Lagos to Calabar coastal rail project was indeed part of the amended budget (although wasn't in the main budget proposal sent to the senate) which the committee on transport approved and thereafter defended before the committee on appropriation for inclusion in the main budget document. It was from this point that politricks crept into the matter and the Lagos to Calabar project was dropped to deny southern Nigeria people the benefits of such a mega project. Obviously, some mischievous senators felt APC will become too too popular with such a project in the south south which they have always wrongly claimed to be so called 'PDP states'. A claim that will easily be punctured if elections are free and fair without PDP rigging with the usual terrorism and bloodshed the party is generally known for since 1999. |

Kennydoc: When will you Igbo's learn to be rational ? Why do you not ask the rail should pass through your bedroom before you can be thrilled. Even poeple had to move to where it could be beneficial to them. Train is not tricycle that stops anywhere your heart desire. In a third world nation like Nigeria local build towards maximizing the benefit of ths two bother town the train touched in the East instead of lamenting |

Ballmer: Did you bother to find out why I wrote what I wrote? What's your problem? You were busy attacking Igbos for the fact that senators from the south failed to push for the rail project. I was only trying to make you realise that that rail is even of more importance to the SW and SS than it is to the SE, therefore the focus of your attack on Igbos isn't justified. Read and reason before responding. Thanks. |
Re: The Lagos Calabar Rail Controversy: What everyone should know by Ariani: 12:24pm On Apr 17, 2016 |
That rail is of no use to Ndiigbo, all it will do is to increase the dependency on Lagos. It will reinforce Lagos monopoly over port activities in Nigeria by eliminating need for Opening of the much needed Eastern ports and possible expansion of the East towards our natural trade routes of central Africa via Cameroun. Yorubas are the ones that need that rail to maintain Lagos monopolistic grip on the nation. Money to be spent on the useless railway line should be invested in opening up one or more Eastern ports to the standard necessary for any ship cargo, no matter what size can easily anchor. This is my take on this matter. |

Op, if you are a southerner, then a cow's brain is better than yours. U see nothing wrong in the insertion and appropriation of new road projects sited in the north by the chairmen of appropriation committees in both senate and HOR. Mind you, those roads were not in the original budget, were not presented to works committee members during defence, were not "smuggled" in by the executives but was done by 2 men. But u see everything wrong in a rail track that was not in the original budget but was added during the defence before the senate committee. You hate yourself of you are from the south |
