If Lawan was Senate President as your party APC so desired, do you think you and I will be discussing this Saraki matter here today? Bukola Saraki would have probably become one of the principal officers in the Senate. You know that this Saraki trial is powered by vendetta and vindictiveness rather than the merit of it. That is what 'politically motivated' and witch hunt means. Hypocrisy and double standards everywhere. Na wa o! AareOlumidey: 2 Likes |

Reading news like this makes one sad. Reading comments of young Nigerians defending this type of move (no matter who is involved) makes one even sadder. Yes, the people stealing the money and getting fat on it "have" excuses to be blinded by their greed. I wonder what to say about the youth who is not even sure of the present talkless of the future but come out to speak for and support these acts.....and support the very people that are depriving us from having and living, at least, normal lives..........Just living normal lives........... Please guys just think about yourself a little bit. And while you are at it think about what is preventing you from achieving your potentials. Remove sentiments and just reason a little...... 5 Likes 2 Shares |

modath:Madam, national assembly has the higher power constitutionally when it comes to issue of passing bills into acts(laws). Constitution of the federation only honour the president to veto the bills passed by the national assembly within a stipulated period or raise an objection to the area necessary. But after this grace period, the National Assembly shall have power to pass into acts which shall bind on everyone, people in presidency inclusive. |

OsusuMustFlow: No. They are doing it because Saraki is being singled out by the presidency and the top echelon of APC. They have to protect themselves too. If we can probe the Senate President, why can't we probe the president himself? Abi we don forget say pmb lied about his certificate and his assets as well? We are not all dull in this our country. 1 Like |

9(3) An Act of the National Assembly for the purpose of altering the provisions of this section, section 8 or Chapter IV of this Constitution shall not be passed by either House of the National Assembly unless the proposal is approved by the votes of not less than four-fifths majority of all the members of each House, and also approved by resolution of the Houses of Assembly of not less than two-thirds of all the States”. Don't know about this particular portion of the Constitution Saraki plans to amend but I'm pretty certain it goes the same way. #notoammendment. It is criminal to be looking for ways to evade justice. After using the judiciary without luck. Now, it is to go and play with the constitution. Serious countries don't amend laws every week!! The CCB act was amended 2015. Why modify it again. The constitution is the Bible of the nation. That is why we dont have patriots in Nigeria. 2 Likes |

If it's a law that affects only the masses, they won't do anything about it but because it affects Saraki, they want to look for a way out. That goes to show that all animals are equal but some are more equal than others 3 Likes |
