U have just spoilt ur nice comments with a bad ending by committing d same offense u accused ppl of. Well I must tell u dis, Anambra and Imo has been so close and even more friendly than any other state of d south east. We see oursef either as in-laws or brothers and sisters so don't generalize ur argument because of some folks here.
Igbos are one.
Ihuomadinihu:
Exactly! People that were castigating Owerri mall will come here and praise Onitsha mall.
I don't understand why folks from Anambra always feel like they are in a competition with Imo folks.
What's the need for all these unhealthy comparisons? When Owerri shoprite mall was opened,it got a lot of negative feedback and reviews by Anambra people. I accosted a number of them on different social media platforms and found no tangible reason for their negative reaction to Ow shoprite store.
Even if you hate Rochas, isn't it pertinent that you direct your bitterness towards him instead of dragging Imo citizens through the mud?
I have studied the Igbo situation in the history of Nigeria and discovered that Igbos are their greatest enemy not Hausa/Fulani/Yoruba/Ijaw.
You can shout Ipob and Biafra from now till tomorrow,it will only take God's special grace to achieve it cos Igbos are very disunited. Imagine the useless idioot comparing Imo and Anambra people on this thread because of a mere mall!!

African Dubia in making

Ogbunike international market
$320 million business agreement with a private consortium, for an International market to be sited at Ogbunike in Oyi Local Government Area of the State.

Signing the memorandum at the governor’s lodge at Amawbia, Governor Willie Obiano said the project was in its first phase and would create over 600 jobs and would provide viable outlet for distributing and marketing goods mass produced by the industrial hub in the state.

The governor also shored up the occasion with a gallant entry to sign the $320 million dollar agreement with the consortium for the establishment of a modern market of international status.

in his speech, the Chairman of Anambra State Promotion and Protection Investment Agency, under whose auspices the project was attracted said the market would have a shopping mall, industrial park, educational and medical facilities and entertainment center.

The leader of the team, Mr Obiora Anyaralu and another senior member of the consortium, Dr. Adedeji Ameh, said the second phase of the project would incorporate the establishment of a housing estate.

He further said that the project would assist the governor in achieving his vision towards elevating the state to an enviable height in commerce.

Addressing the august team, the Governor stated that a similar market would be established in Umunze, Orumba South Local Government Area, explaining that the main market with its challenge of old age necessitated the undertaking of the present project.

He assured the gathering of direct job creation to the tune of 600 when the project must have been completed. He put the percentage benefit of the project to the state at five per cent while the local government of domicile gets 25 per cent.

Signatures by all parties involved were appended, thus sealing the deal and expectations are now high that in 42 months, an international trade center must have been built in Ogbunike in Oyi Local Government Area of the state as the state heads for a digital e-commerce stage in trade and business activities.

What business does the Government have in building retail outlets in which 80% of goods sold are all imported.
The Shoprite shopping Malls remove money from small retailers and hand it over to South African Shoprite which is repatriated to South Africa and these during dundies called Governors are celebrating it as achievements
We are castigating MTN and DSTV because they are South African company milking Nigeria

Now we want to hand over the common retail of basic goods in this country to SA and later we will start shouting up and down of exploitation.

Building retail outlets can't be measured as an achievement to any sane Government

Thought some people said oil price has gone down that is why they have not done anything for one year. How come Obiano isn't affected by the so called oil price fall? Mehn!!!
The secret is that Obiano planned ahead on time he said that he knew oil price will crash so he started to strategize on how to overcome the impending doom he mapped out a lot of far reaching economic strategies that is helping the state to cushion the effect of economic meltdown being witnessed by the nation he is not only paying salaries as and when due but also carrying out a lot of infrastructural development across the state without resorting to borrowings like other states and attracted a lot of investors to the state in various sector of the state economy to the tune of $4.2 billion dollars

Oga, there is nothing like shoprite shopping mall. Shoprite only rented a space in the mall. When their rent expires, they either renew or get booted out. Does the rent also go to SA? So, as you can see, your argument is inherently flawed.
