Saraki might wslk on technicalities but it will be a big shame on this government propaganda fight on corruption.

Saraki should still resign win or lose because in the cpurt of public opinion he is Guilty

Which public opinion? The one of tinubu or oyegun? The trial in itself is an abuse

If he was charged without petition, it means that someone at the top ordered EFCC to go after him. EFCC should not be used to settle political scores.

I guess if a robber should rape and kill your loved one and a policeman happens to walk by, notices the crime but since your loved one is not there to place a petition, the robber should walk away right?

Na wa!

It's not a problem he was charged without petition. They had his asset declaration form and have power to take him to the tribunal if they find discrepancies in his declarations

I do not think the shame should go to the govt should saraki walk free on technicalities. It should go to the judiciary and all the wailers shouting witch hunt. Truth is most of the senior lawyers and judges and contemporaries, they know how to bend the law to suit their purpose. If the evidence befor the court of public opinion is any to go by, saraki is doomed. But we are who we are, spectators.

Re "The witness also told the Tribunal that he did not investigate the pension scheme of Kwara State; neither did he have knowledge of the entitlements of the defendant.

The witness had, last week, told the Tribunal that Saraki was receiving monthly salaries from the Kwara State government for four years after the expiration of his tenure as governor of the state".

The witness already lied under oath & should be disqualified, Saraki should counter-sue the witness.

The shame should go to the CCB who did not do its work well. There is no way the CCB will win at the supreme court as they didn't adhere to the dictates of the CCB act in this Saraki matter

According to him, it was the prosecutor who told him to file a summary report of his findings and activities during investigation. He said he did not mention any petition from Kwara Freedom Network, nor did he investigate the petition from the network by EFCC, adding that his own team’s investigation was based on intelligence report.

The witness is saying that it was not a petition that motivated him to carry out the investigation.

do you know that this revelation by this witness has thrown most of the testimony he made last week to the dustbin. There are procedures in criminal cases and if its not followed then the defendant will walk because his rights were trampled on to press a case against him

The courts are not zombies who see everything in blackbbecause that's what they want dem to see

If the evidence is water tight there should be no problem with conviction.
However when the motivation for the trial is MEDIA frenzy, hounding and witch hunt, then FAILURE is bound to happen with many collateral damage of those orchestrating the macabre dance along the line.
Meanwhile what stops us from using our TAX laws as the basis for corruption trials?
