Stop wailing! Didn't the ministers say they can work even without salaries? And which of the ministers is suffering? Who among them is not filthy rich? Who among them doesn't have a house in Abuja?
Why are you supporting corruption or is this a case of corruption fighting back?
The 4m is their statutory entitlements and they are free to resign if they can't make up with the bribe money and kick backs and crazy allowances they receive.
Honestly u contradict yourself on this page..between legality & illegality which one is better ? Paying them to get good accommodation or allow them to help themselves with illegal collections .My brother wake up and face reality..when you don't satisfy your workers you open door for corruption but when you satisfy them they have no excuse for corruption that is the point am making .

How did I contracdict myself? The law says 4m right? To change that means you would have to go back and amend the law. And besides, who amongst them is a millionaire prior to their appointments?
And even if they are given the 20m, are you saying it will stop them from taking their share from the budget of yams? To say that would be naïve.

so austerity measures reach them side too

I didn't hear such complain during the previous adminstration.....

The previous administration gave its ministers 20 million naira per annum for accommodation. Buhari gives his ministers only 4 million naira.

It's change nau. Let dem enjoy it. Shebi them say no money to pay 56,000 minimum wage. But one drunkard is asking for 20million for where he will lay his head. If they can't add their money to the 4million. They should resign or squat or pay hotel.

Good riddance.
i concur ma guy

The policy of monetisation under obasanjo did not allow sale of houses of principal officers in 2007. It was GEJ regime that did that in 2011.

Thisday report quoted by the OP said David Mark and Dimeji Bankole bought the Senate President house and the Speaker house respectively. The two persons were not in those positions under Obj but under Yar'adua/GEJ regimes. If obj had sold those houses to Nnamani and Masari who were there during monetisation, Mark and Bankole wouldn't have got the houses to buy under GEJ.

Secondly, the housing allowance does not need presidential approval, the amount is fixed by law.
