It seems you need explanation. The slogan, like that of other universities is just to imbibe the spirit of belongings in her students and alumni. If UI uses "first and the best," unilorin uses "better by far." I don't think anyone should grumble if ABU chooses naturally ahead of you.

Dentistry - Dental student
Vet medicine - veterinary student
optometry - optometry student
med lab science - med lab student

its true that both Medical and Dental students are called Doctors...but theres no where in the world where all students studying Health-related courses are called medical students.
