Intending Pilgrims should sponsor themselves. Wike should stop dabbling in issues that will not promote the course of governance. States are moving away from wasteful spending already. We know the majority in rivers claim to be Christians but that does not mean they own the state more than asari dokubo and his converts. The governor is not a religious leader as such he should refrain from making such statements.
Why not channel the money he intends to spend on this wasteful venture to paying the fees of the rivers state students stranded abroad due to his scrapping of RSSDA.

Failed sacarsm We'd all be better off when we start preaching that universal values like love, kindness, hope, peace etc are not exclusive to any religion. We should learn identify and appreciate people by the values they uphold, rather than the beliefs they profess.

For me it's a careless statement. He stopped education grants to students on scholarship but claiming holier than the pope on religious matter.
Claiming to be a Christian, going to church and calling God's name does not make you a Christian. You must be a Christian bfor you become a born again Christian. For me the pilgrimage thing is more of an excursion. A true convert will do what it takes to see the holy land if he/she wishes to do so.
