If i might add, just download this app. It backs up every damm thing. Especially sms, contacts and call history.

Also about backup, the Xiaomi backup and restore as backs up sms and other phone settings. The only problem is, u can't choose which to restore when restoring phone settings unlike apps.

Use mi mover, it even your app data will be saved, it will be as if you are still on your old device. Also, the moment you login to your Mi Account, your contacts, sms, call logs, notes, etc will be restored, provided you enabled Mi backup.

Both are official, but since you are on stable, download the first one, which is stable rom.

To flash via recovery :
After downloading the rom, copy it into the Internal memory of your device in a folder you should name ' downloaded_rom'. Then go to the updater app, touch the three dots on the top right of your screen, then click on choose update package, select the folder 'downloaded_rom', tap the rom and your phone will be flashed.
Note : This might take up to 15 mins, don't stop the process until your phone boots to the main screen. Also, ensure you have upto 50% of battery juice before starting.


If I were you, I would save a copy of the rom after downloading, might be useful in case of any bug.
