Here's the clue, when a xiaomi phone has both mtk and snapdragron variants, avoid the mtk as much as you can. kiss

So that means they both have different ROM and receive OTA updates differently. You can't flash SD ROM to the MTK variant and vice versa.

How different is their prices?

No. Different SoCs. Qualcomm offers better update support than Mediatek. MTK cheaper though but more prone to ish. But some people have no complaints about it, so it all depends..

Their OTA is same in the sense that mtk will receive update to an higher ROM version over the air too but when? undecided
Try not flash an mtk ROM on SD and vice versa to avoid breaking news
The Mtk version is way cheaper than the SD.
I'll suggest note 4 if you want 4+64gb but note 4x if 3+32. kiss
