The global rom installed. Will it be safe to update it later in the future. I heard that Xiaomi has started making it impossible to update Chinese redmi with global rom installed, unless bootloader is unlocked. How true is this?

Global rom installed, comes with the original OTA supported global rom that the global version runs,
Yes,once u pop in ur sim,u get the miui 10 update asap, thats if its not already inatalled sef.

I hrd so too,but sellers are still installing the original global rom on the note 5,

Cheers

Is it possible for global Rom to be installed and bootloader locked?
If you buy the Global rom ( Chinese version with Global rom installed), your bootloader will come unlocked. Trying to lock the bootloader is where you might have issues of bricking.

Just saw a video now, and the included charger is not a quick charger, you'll need to get one if you need quick charging angry. On the plus side, Gsmarena and some of their wrong info, phone actually has an hybrid sim slot contrary to what Gsmarena says.

On the battery stuff, yes individual usage affects alot. Network stability, temperature, luminosity, etc also affects. If you are a traveller, you'll really suffer grin.

I personally don't rely on GsmArena anymore. They don't have accurate information about phones. I watch unboxing and hands-on reviews on YouTube to get all I want.

Similarly, I've watched several video comparisons of both phones, and the 8x seems better marginally. Regarding software updates and all, Honor push constant updates on their phones too, safe for the inability to unlock bootloader.

But then, I haven't chosen the one to buy yet. grin grin

Definitely a tough one, the Honor is even cheaper currently, decision should be based on what one can live with/ without.

How many would now want to go through that stress on flashing custom ROM upandan

Most don't even know how to do that; including myself

It looks tiring to me and if you are not careful, you will end up bricking your phone in the end

Leave that to the professionals... If you no Sabi do flashing of ROMs, take it to someone that knows how. It's not even hard

No sir. I prefer the Chinese phone with global rom installed. I just want to be assured that updates will not brick my phone, based on some things I heard about Xiaomi trying to discourage global rom installation on Chinese phones.

I actually don't care whether bootloader is locked or unlocked. I just want a phone that won't brick when updating.

Thanks.

I have heard stories of the so called global ROM installed on Chinese version phones having OTA update feature missing after flashing, plus the possibility of the phone been bricked

Custom fee is not supposed to be charged if item is declared as a gift. But then most couriers don't offer insurance for gift items. Which means if the package goes missing while being declared as a gift, OYO will be your case.
On the other hand if it's just sent without stating it's a gift, you stand 50/50 chance of paying custom duty or not.

I will rather pay custom charges.

you have any idea what it will cost me?
