The chargers aren't the problem which I'm sure. Btw I use Aukey and Xiaomi chargers, the Aukey is over 2 years I bought it the same time with the powerbank. I don't fault the powerbank, I did serve me for 2 years which I'm okay with.

Sorry about that, factory defects are prevalent with any product. Maybe your unit is one of such.

Next time be sure of the workmanship level of a repairer before handing your device for repairs.


MODIFIED: Just seeing your comment on your power bank with swollen battery, am 90% sure it is the culprit of your phone charging issue

I understand that factory defects do occur but no one wishes for that. Hopefully I won't be needing a repairer ever again.
The thing is that the powerbank has been swollen for some months, I should have replaced but I didn't see the need to because I rarely use it because before I run out of charge, power will be restored. The OEM charger damaged the phone because it's what I have been using to charge it.

Are you saying it's the power bank or an unregulated charger. Cos the swelling is a sign of unregulated overcharging. I'm pretty sure the power bank can regulate charge output.

The powerbank uses a lipoly battery which can swell up not because of unregulated overcharging. You can Google it.

I suspect there is a reason why standard AOSP only allows torch to be toggled from lockscreen, eg you may plug your phone to charge in an out of sight position n someone else can toggle your data connection from the lockscreen, if you don't check your phone you'll never know your data connection was changed. I'm just saying Google obviously have better paid designers than Xiaomi n they chose well to only allow the torch to be toggled from the lockscreen, my 2cents

How please? You should have asked me if I use the powerbank or if I was using the power bank to charge the phone. I should have changed the powerbank before now but I didn't the need to because since I bought the Redmi Note 5 I've hardly used it. I just need a powerbank now because I will be travelling during the holidays and the light situation may be worse there than here.
