Hey guys. I use a Redmi Note 5A Prime which is about a year old. My phone has been lagging very badly recently and I'm thinking/hoping a software update would fix the problem. But the thing is this; I was told the update would wipe all the data I have stored in my phone and that I would have to get an OTG flash drive to backup my data before I update so I don't lose them. Please how true is the bolded part?

If it is an OTA update you won't lose any data.

I like this RN7 for one thing, that is, it saturated the colour of screen display when ever I am operating it under sunlight which makes the display very clear and visible.
