After the update finishes downloading it will prompt you to tap to reboot/update. Then the update will be installed during that process, during that period please and please don't attempt to press the power button. Allow it to do it's thing and it will come back up.

Lol.. girls will always be girls.. same phone that I used for 1 year and 6 months, e even fall some couple of times, yet nothing happened. Guess u should just get u some of those armoured cases and a good screen guard.
