Since you said you tried the earphones on another phone and it worked well I think you should try checking your settings. Go to settings→additional settings→accessibility→hearing→if mono audio is enabled then make sure the left and right is balanced as shown in the screenshot below. I hope it fixes it. Both cable and charger are the original ones the phone came with.
When it's plugged the screen shows fast charging but 40% is definitely no where near fast by today's standards.
