101 Clear Contradictions In The Bible by Reverend(m): 1:19pm On Nov 18, 2006
I believe the Bible to be the work of man that has been corrupted many hundreds of times over the years to fit in with the ideology of the times. Many of you choose to read and take all the Bibles writings as being true and accurate without question. I am more open minded and willing to question the facts.

Reverend,

I have seen a few variations of the 101 Bible contradictions but non as concise and compelling as yours.I have spent a few years researching the Flood story and it has more holes in it than a sieve.

Question,

If Noah's Ark floated above all mountains including Everest:Elevation: 8,850 M (29,035 feet) how come no one suffered from
1 Hypoxia., a shortage of oxygen in the body. Hypoxia is the reduction of oxygen specifically in the blood; anoxia is when there is no oxygen available at all.The fact is at that height mammals can't survive for more than a few minutes.

The temperature at the summit of Everest is an average of -36c how did the occupants of the Ark survive that cold? Surely they would die from Hypothermia and besides the flood would frozen solid at that height.

We have to seek the truth and the Bible seems to be a long way from that!

To not question is not good enough. God gave us our brains and we should use them!

The temperature at the summit of Everest is an average of -36c how did the occupants of the Ark survive that cold? Surely they would die from Hypothermia and besides the flood would frozen solid at that height.

Then that confirms the awesome power of GOD!.Havn't you heard the word Supernatural?!.Your posts tantamounts to doubting the Existence of a Supreme God! "Hypothermia,Hypoxia" are all within God's control . smiley

Even common medical science has witnessed brain dead individuals ('from hypoxia') come to life miraculously, tumors dissappear and we question God and his abilities.

Just because one sees no miracles in ones life, is no testimony that they don't happen.

You are right, we do need to use our brains.

Reverend, I have a question for you, do you agree that the key to unlocking these contradictions in the bible is to first start with Egyption myth and the time the Romans and Greeks came into Egypt? Also to look at the time in which the conference of Niacine was held? The conference which was held to choose what would go into the bible and what would be kept out.
Re: 101 Clear Contradictions In The Bible by simmy(m): 3:07pm On Nov 20, 2006
Reverend,  i don't have the time to go through your list htoroughly but a cursory glance shows some of them are the result of someone making a mountain out of a molehill, and besides some of the inconsisitencies are irrelevant to the message, who cares if Jesus appeared to 11 or 12 disciples?, who'se doing the counting anyways? also if ure slightly intelligent some of the seeming inconsistencies will make sense like the 1 about God or satan inciting david or the one about Jesus's statements about bearing himself witness, that was lame , dog, and did jesus carry his own cross? yes and no!, He carried it 4 some time and then some1 else hepled him rest of the way, Dog, i dont even have a bible with me, im writing this off the top of my head, ureally have to do ur research right

Adam was told that if he eats the fruit he would die
Adam lived to a ripe old age
therefore, the bible is inconsistent
Mayb the bible should come with a foreword that reads
"if your i.q is less than 50. do not bother to read, u wouldnt undertsand anyways'
unfortunatelyGod's grace is all encompassing

and besides i don't get u rpoint?

The point is, the 101 inconsistencies the Rev has pointed out are only the ones he and a few others have noticed. Imagine how many others writings in the bible are inconsistent and have not yet to be noticed?

Have you read the book called "The book Your Church Doesn't Want You To Read" Go to your local Library, the book is at the Library.

some of the inconsistencies are irrelevant to the message,

There shouldn't be any inconsistencies in the so called book of life, the book of life is supposed to be perfect.

96. Does every man sin?

* Yes. There is no man who does not sin (I Kings 8:46; see also 2 Chronicles 6:36; Proverbs 20:9; Ecclesiastes 7:20; and I John 1:810)

* No. True Christians cannot possibly sin, because they are the children of God. Every one who believes that Jesus is the Christ is a child of God, (I John 5:1). We should be called children of God; and so we are (I John 3: 1). He who loves is born of God (I John 4:7). No one born of God commits sin; for Gods nature abides in him, and he cannot sin because he is born of God (I John 3:9). But, then again, Yes! If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us (I John 1:Cool

The contradictions exist if you choose to see them or not. If you choose to ignore them then I do not have a problem with it. But they do exist in a huge number!

@ Sista
youre the 1 imposing your expectations on the bible. if the bible says in 1 page that there were 11 disciples with Jesus and on another page says 12, it doesnt take an intelligent person to realise the irrelevancy of the point
@reverend
The bible says everyone has sinned, it does not say everyone sins,  which means when a man gets born again even if he has sinned before, he no longer sins anymore, so it is possible for every1 to have sinned before but for a select few to exist who NO LONGER (no longer being the operative words) sin
P.s I really believe u must have a minimum i.q level in order to qualify to read the bible
Re: 101 Clear Contradictions In The Bible by simmy(m): 6:16pm On Nov 21, 2006
Mayb u should just get this point clear once and for all
The bible was written by MEN!!! thrrough inspiration from God
That means even though, the bible is absolutely accurate in its entirety and in its message a few inconsequential errors might exist especially thru translation
A good example
Mr. A to Mr. B: I am delirious with joy
Mr. B to Mr.C : Mr. A is happy
Even tho the translation of the message is not wrong, it is not exactly accurate is it?, but would it be fair to say that the message is untrue? or has been altered for some deep, dark, mysterious, mind boggling reasons?
Also, if you speak more than 1 language u will realise how impossible it can be at times to translate exact meanings from one language to the other.
If u wanna find contradictions in the bible, you gota do a lot betta than that

Re: 101 Clear Contradictions In The Bible by exu(m): 8:24pm On Nov 21, 2006
As far as I'm concerned the Bible is mainly poorly translated doctrinal fiction with a whole host of contradictions.

However a lot of the said contradictions in the above list are trivial, at best.

You don't need to waste your time trying to discredit so called 'holy books'- religious people do it for us.

Unwittingly I might add, but discredit them they do.
Re: 101 Clear Contradictions In The Bible by simmy(m): 12:43pm On Nov 22, 2006
Now sista's just trying to be funny, im not going o botha a reply
@exu
Im glad u think many of the said contradicitons are trivial, as far as im concerned 90% of the supposed 'contadictions' in the bible appear trivial
Exactly what the bible is and is not is subject to conjecture, it is not a book of science, the bible's core message might or might not be true but there is absolutely no denying the fact that it is an acceptably accurate historical source. No one can credit or discredit the bible, when we ALL die, we will discover the truth, is there a God?, is it the Xtian God?, does the bible accurately represent His thoughts and plans for mankind?, death will provide that answer for us

Oh Rev, you don't have to pay anything, as long as you read and believe, the profit will come slowly but surely.

Let me give you an insert of my God inspired writings. Here it goes,

Thou shalt stop cheating the lord of what is rightfully his - instead of paying the tithe, thou commands that now is the time, due to economy - thou shalt pay a thirtieth unto the home of the lord, that being the Church.

What do you think about that one Rev, does it sound God inspiring enough?

I can see a lot of new pastors going into the Church business, do you Rev?

Heres another,

Those who do not have a car, a fancy home, a good job, food to eat, an education and those who can not some way in life to acquire these things, they are not a blessed people and should not be felt sorry for. Those who have these things and or, on their way to obtaining these things, they are the chosen ones by me sayeth the lord, they are the only ones who acknowledge me through prayer, faith and paying their thirtieth - I shall continue to pour out blessings unto them.

What about that one Rev? That should keep a lot of people believing that they are blessed compared to those who continue to live in poverty. You see Rev, the ones living in poverty, they don't serve the right God - but by the power and inspiration of God - I am here to set them straight. I'm just going to need a few missionaries to volunteer helping to go from continent to continent (particularly the continents that are stupid enough to let me benefit economically from their misery) to convert the unbelievers to the right God they should be serving.

@Reverend,

How much is the devil paying you to waste your time trying to disprove the Bible? How much have you gained from Him?

Like I told you before, let me tell you again: Many people have walked the surface of this earth and tried in one way or the other to destroy the Bible. Some people even killed those who stood by it in times past. Many burnt it and hoped it will never flourish, but see, they all failed. A lot of people more intelligent than you are have spoken all the English they could speak, done all the research they could do, but see NO MAN CAN DEFEAT GOD.

A lot of PhDs in Theology have turned the Bible upside down. You dont sound like you've got any PhD, even if you do, I see that you are very much confused.

By the way, is it only 101 contradictions you found in the Bible? you mean you couldn't even find one more to make it 102?

O Boy, I hope this is not what you teach your followers in your Church. I didn't see any pro-nudity contradicting verses in your list. You mean all such verses agreed with one another?

--------
Just in case it crossed your mind to ask me how much is God paying me for believing in Him(since I asked you a similar question), Yes, I am overwhelmingly blessed, that I turned my middle name to blessing360. More than this blessing is the hope for eternity, right where God is: HEAVEN!

You dont have such a hope, do you?

As for saving souls, what makes you believe that there is such a thing as a soul?

i just curiously peeped into this thread but i dont want to rush into writing anything, i d rather wait to hear someone says the reverend gentleman is wrong. Anyway, the contradiction or lack of it should not even bother me because i dont even agree with the whole of it.

But sometimes i wish there was no contradiction in it so that atleast you can have something to hang on to(hopefully). We in Islam believe God sent a holy book to Jesus which probably end up in the wrong hand and now got adulterated. The book was called Injil. Am not sure if it is what you now called Bible.

Re: 101 Clear Contradictions In The Bible by Nobody: 6:39pm On Nov 28, 2006
@ bellotti and all the Bible has no contradictions, you cannot base your knowledge from limited quoted texts without full context.
Read the link I earlier posted for yourself.

We have earlier showed you and others numerous numerous fabu in your Koran, you either say they were taken out of contexts or the hadiths were weak hadiths.

Why do you keep quoting Bari_kade in your posts?

I think he must be your boyfriend or you do not have your own brain to think with. I think it is probably both.

Try adding something to the debate for a change instead of your normal childish dribble!

As for Bogus claims, the Bible is the book of bogus claims and full of nonsense! That is the theme of this thread.

Now try writing something intelligent for a change about the topic and leave Bari_kade and his bits alone tongue

Hmmm, typical unReverend style of writing: veer off the post, then dish out some incredibly imbecilic n retarded lame-ass insults. Funny u should say the Bible has contradictions. If i can recall, the "Did Jesus Mastur, ?" thread, where you were trying to promote that stupid church and cult of yours, you quoted from the same Bible u attack now, to support your beliefs. Then you now come with some crap about that same Bible.

It seems to me you hate the name bari_kade. Or perhaps, does it turn ur perverted mind on?

Methinks you're nothing but a confused individual who desperately seeks attention for himself and his equally stupid cult.

Hey Rev, I need you to stand still now, I got these nice round stones that throw well but I out of practice; if you keep moving I might miss.
So, you say there are contradictions in the Bible, and indeed there are. One don't have to go so far to find them, just look at the four gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John - they not all saying the same thing, and they not all talking to the same people either, as anyone who has bothered to read them would know. But think about it, imagine a human being who 'thinks' and is able to reason, being confronted with these contradictions, what would they do? Shall we ask one?

"Hey! This book is full of lies!" they probably told one it was written in the printing press of God in Heaven! "But God can't make these mistakes, so it must have been written by human beings!" But hold on, they could have made sure there weren't any contradictions in it, couldn't they?! "After all, all they got to have done was read the damn thing and write what they wanted!", So why did they leave these contradictions intact? "Perhaps they were stupid people!" Aha, but the book is written in much too intelligent language than for it to be written by fools!" Okay then, why the contradictions? "What do I know!"

One of the great fallacies is how those who do talk of God do tend to not use their brains, and their capability to reason when it comes to Godly things! When I come across the contradictions, I see a message for me in there. I see me being told that many have tried to package God into some finite entity in a book, and failed, and I better not go along with them!. I see me being told that the most important aspect of me is my ability to reason, and not just accept anything by faith! Yep, I know those who believe by faith are supposed to be more blessed than I would be; in fact, according to Thomas, my life would be a rather difficult one, and I may be stoned and crucified because of my knowing (or unknowing, take one), and not merely believing by faith as many would! Still, I got to work it out somehow; no, God is not handed to one in a nicely packaged book that people believe was printed in heaven regardless of how many people say it is "true" that It was.

I can think back to those Jews who after being freed from the yoke of slavery, made a visible god so they can objectify their faith! I look at the book and peples reaction to it, and though they say it is the word of God, I see an idol myself, which many bow down and worship. But then I consider how many know they worship the book, or that it is their idol, for I know they know they ought to not worship any other God but he, and he was not created in the image of a book!

If there is anything to stop one saying, "I have found God", it is the contradictions in the books that tell one about him, yet it is in the understanding of these contradictions that one does get to know what it is that God is. No one ought to just believe anything they have read, for surely one other person would have read lots more than one somewhere. Indeed someone might be attempting to make one jump off a cliff, or turn stones into bread, but they who know what is written in every book (and I do not mean literally every book!) can say, it is written! People ought to beware they not worshiping the wrong idol!

Now, those round stones? I think I'll just go find something better to do with them, you do not deserve to be stoned! grin
