Great UNIBEN... I love that school although I never loved the state. I still remember how I left Library extension only to get to Ekosodin to see that it was dead silent at about 6pm. As a fresher I still wasn't aware of what was wrong so I got home and prepared for night class. I was coming out around 9pm when my neighbor asked if I wasn't aware of the crisis going on? Omo na so I sit down back for my room ooo, the next day I was on Edo street when I saw my course mates going thru some past questions, I joined them but few some minutes later we heard gun shots and then we began the race of our life. The coldest of all incident was when an FYB was 'deleted' in front of my hostel. Meeeen, if u ever survive Ekosodin, u can survive any part of Nigeria I don't even wanna start with how I had 6 missing results in my first year, and I cried from faculty to Ekosodin. UNIBEN is for the strong. I'm a proud graduate of this great citadel of knowledge. 4 Likes |

saintdennis: The emboldened got me Lol.. I remember my neighbour in Osasogie who joined Man-o-war n started feeling like a soldier. Whenever he hears a sound at night he'll yell, 'Who's dat'. Until one faithful day when the real thieves came and designed his face with resounding slaps... O my God! I miss Uniben. 4 Likes |

Pyroxene: I can see u belong to my generation, most of these people cannot relate with these things you said.I cannot forget The 2005 Aluta to Government house spearheaded by Faculty of Engineering led by great men like Udengs,Aluyor,Aluta choir master, etc.Ekosodin is not as bad as people say,I lived there from 100L till Finals,I had no issues,I go to school to read and come back 12-1am and no encounter with robbers or cultists. The decline of UNIBEN started from the first post-Ume set in 2006. 1 Like 1 Share |

For the Ladies that lived in Hall2... Early morning bread from 'Going going Gone!' If you miss buying from her, sorry for you cos you gonna walk all the way down to those guys in common room. Amikable and her utility dwellers that sell clothes on the walk way.... Early morning fight at the tap n walk way.. 'Bucket Breaking and Hair pulling Scene.' And finally Pastor Porter walking in when girls are bathing to seize buckets... Memories... |

Faith111: O my gosh. I remember all those. Going going was in my block wen i was in year 2. Very funny girl but serious with her business. Selling of clothes in d night .haha. i never bought clothes from dem though. Photographers, carpenters, electricians walking around d hostel from block to block looking for people to patronise their services. D early morning fight is inevitable during water scarcity. Imagine somebody bringing 15 buckets to thetap and wants to fetch all of dem wen d tap is running like piss. And u have eight o clock class. Most times i just go to block E to fetch. Pastor porter na wacko person What about during Sug election. U wont b able to sleep in d evening because of all their campaign noise. Wow. I miss those days sha. #representing class of #2012 2 Likes |

Faith111: You are so correct!! Ladies were fond of stealing things and fighting, and it always ended with threats of calling ayelala to place a curse.. I remember the common room,June 12, Uwagboy the then SuG president, short put, bathing with all sizes of girls in the bathroom, bunking, quarrelling and becoming friends. I remember how a cult guy called ifeanyi wanted me by all means, but I got him off my case by confiding on some other guys to threaten him. I remember how a guy whose phone I took to my sisters traditional wedding, hoping he was cool I have his phone for some days, since he had two and mine was bad. Lol, this guy and some friends located my village where the wedding took place, acted all nice to my family. I was scared to my bones when I saw them, but kept my cool by serving them drinks and food. Luckily for me I had the phone with me,so I handed it over sharply! When they were about leaving,I was asked to see them off,I just gave em excuse that I needed to usher my sister out to greet her in laws. Na then I begin cut off from too much male friends in Uniben. 2 Likes |

It was a great experience passing through the 4 walls of Unibest. Still lots of interesting memories about my school. Having lived in BDPA community during my undergraduate days, the fear of Ekosodin was usually the beginning of wisdom, when you get into the place. You simply behave yourself and act wise. The place was so rugged that curfews were sometimes imposed due to frequent cult related wars between rival factions. I remember one experience, I initially had in that place was when I sent a rug to someone to wash for which I was to collect after some days, when I went to get the rug.I was told by the idiot that someone else was claiming the rug and that it is no more mine. Na wa oh, see me see wahala. All efforts to retrieve the rug failed. Then I informed my elder bro who was in his penultimate year in Engineering and pretty familiar with the ruggedness of ekosodin. We went together and he demanded for the rug, without argument the idiot ran and got the rug with fear.It was pretty funny the way he chickened in.If not that rug might have entered voicemail like my colleagues will say then. |
