You do realise the EFCC can initiate its own investigations don't you? I believe you're also aware that Amaechi has been indicted by the panel of inquiry set up by the State Government? It's very much public knowledge that petitions have been forwarded to the EFCC against Amaechi but the EFCC, being under the full control of the Presidency can pick and choose what petitions to honour. If the EFCC has chosen to ignore anything about Amaechi as is evident, what do you expect Rivers govt to do?

The vetting by security agencies before clearance by the Senate would have only taken cognisance of ongoing investigations or cases and conveniently, there is none against Amaechi so why wouldn't he become Minister?

Keep to the subject and reason accordingly please. The issue between Abati and Buhari wasn't on financial crime or fraud. It was an issue of defamation of character as alleged by Buhari against Abati so of course, the offended party took recourse to the court.

Do not be blinded by sentiments. The entire petition beats logic. It was hastily put together to disqualify Amaechi hi from becoming a minister. The Efcc and DSS I believe, looked into the petiband discovered it was borne out of malice. Aside the so called white paper by the Omeriji commission the state govt has not made any meaningful move. They hide behind the curtain to shout obout a petition sent by one man who calls himself a group. What stops the govt from instituting their own process thru the AG.

btw I brought in Reuben Abati's issue to erase the believe that the rivers state govt will not get justice in court because there's an APC govt at the centre.

Ok. Those who stole from their state to fund federal election have no case to answer as long as they are APC members, right?

EFCC is not the only agency with powers of prosecution. When a civil servant steals from the state government, they don't usually wait for EFCC to prosecute him. Tell the ministry of justice in Rivers to do their job since EFCC have refused to prosecute. This is a federal democracy and the federal government doesn't have a monopoly over which case to prosecute or not.[/s]

This useless UK dailymail again? Instead of investigating their stories properly and getting the facts of the matter, they just copy unsubstantiated lies from PDP propaganda sites and publish to unsuspecting British public in order to poison their minds against supporting UK aids to Nigeria. The UK government and people should be told that we don't need their fvcking aids anymore, they should simply give us back our stolen funds that are hidden in corrupt British banks.

If any commission in Rivers state is so sure that Amaechi misappropriated £338million, the Rivers state government through the Rivers state ministry of justice should charge him to court. He has no immunity from criminal prosecution, they should charge him to court and stop making wild allegations.

Buhari is already prosecuting those who stole at the federal level, state should please join the fight against corruption by prosecuting those who stole state funds.

They can only invite him for two reasons.

a) acting on a petition from anywhere
b) acting on a petition from the federal government.

Should the petition come from the state govt, they can approach the court should the Efcc refuse to act on it.

In response to your points:

a) Petitions have been written to EFCC to investigate Amaechi, but they refused to act on it.

b) Why will the FG not subject him to investigations considering the amount of dust that has been raised with regards to his corruption. If he's innocent like other APC politicians (the way Buhari has made us realise that they are all saints), why not allow EFCC invite him so that He will go and floor Rivers State Government and their 'fake' judicial commission of enquiry?

The answer to your question is in my last line.
between inviting him by the Efcc and approaching the high court with evidence, which will you go for at this point in time.

EFCC is funded by the government to prosecute cases of financial crimes. That is their sole responsibility. They should do it. The state government doesn't want to get entangled in the case cos if they don't have the backing of the FG, then the case is as good as dead. We know how these things work in Nigeria: threatening of the judges handling the case, blackmailing of the same, frustrating the entire judicial process with federal might etc.
Moreover, the guy (Amaechi) can even fail to honour the court summon knowing that he's the president's right hand man, and nobody can do much about it.

If the federal government is sincere about their fight against corruption, they should ask EFCC to invite him. That is the most effective route.

$39.2 million from the Rivers state excess crude account for a hospital that is not existing up till date. I know there were issues with building the hospital but if the hospital was not built, where has the money gone? Which contractor has been mentioned as having failed to execute the job?

I can understand why Rotimi Ameachi was the No 1 target to that section of Nigeria.

They tried everything to stop this man from becoming minister. What happened thereafter? He was made minister of federal republic of Nigeria by a grateful Buhari.

If he contributed billions to Buhari's campaign as they claimed, how much did Tinubu, Fashola, Baba Akande, Tambuwal contributed then?

BTW, Buhari shouldn't have indirectly replied Cameron's gaffe/script but completely ignore it and earn pity thereby.

He seems to attract resentment/enemies both consciously and subconsciously as a result of an obvious lack of diplomacy.

Except he redefines his acclaimed fight against corruption, in a holistic manner; may he not be shamed internationally as being hypocritical.
Who invited resentment? The loquacious Prime Minister with obvious disdain towards his 'invited' guests, or your president responding to the tasteless joke that doesn't reflect well on you as a Nigerian, but Buhari is to blame on this matter, have some dignity my friend, never allow your social/economic predicament to push your chin down against your chest, or else you'll answer to your next generation even from the grave, learn from the likes of Awolowo.
