I was just working with ma laptop, when all of a sudden it just went off (the battery was charged full when this happened and the charger was even stil plugged).

I 1st check the charger and notice it was fine, cus when I plug it, the laptop shows the ba3 full light.

But when I push the ON button it blinks the back low light. Am just confused.

its likely that your cpu is overheating. when this happens your laptop will automatically shut down. if that is the case, then there may be something wrong with your cpu fan. post your laptop details - some models have that issue. my old Toshiba satellite had that isue. uit would shut down while i was gaming

what make is your laptop ?

xp or vista ?

have you install any windows update ?

Did you get any error/warning message when it turns off ?

Has the laptop been dropped ?

is there any damages to the usb ports and the laptop dc port(where the charger goes into)

when it turn off itself Were you using the laptop on your lap, table or on the bed ?

when you were using it Has there been a power cut (off nepa)

This are all the basics will need to know in order for the tecs to give best advice and sorry if this too much am just trying to think out of the box

meanwhile, what we going to do is call ATX RESET, this discharge static electricity build up which may be store on the main board/cpu

Take the battery and charger out

Disconnect all pheripherals from the laptop such as printer, speakers, usb device etc

Hold your finger down on the power button for about 20 secs

just connect the charger only to the electricity(mains) Turn on the laptop no battery remember

Immediately you turn it on keep pressing f2 on your keyboard you should get a blue screen if not try f1 or delete key
until you ge the blue screen should say something like bios setup utility

once you"re on the blue screen leave it like that for about 1 hour if the laptop turn itself off here then you have a faulty laptop which need repairing if doesnt turn off here for about 1hr then is a software problem and is just a case of reinstalling the opearing system back to square one it might infected with viruss let us know the outcome

It recently installed service pack 3.
Its windows XP pro

Its been having some virtual memory probs.
Bcus d guy that fixed it d othr time reduced ma RAM memory n its been a bit slow at times

and how do you know is having virtual memory problem, being so slow doesnt mean is Ram problem. am current struggling with this post as you now saying something else as suppose to your prev post

I did al that at 1st.
D main probs is.
It show ba3 full light bt when u power it,it blinks ba3 lw.


I removed the ba3 and used direct current,
Its shows a light(meaning d charger is fine),then when i press on,it keep blinking continously.

i will say it is overheating. where do u have ur laptop? is it on a smooth surface like a desk or on a stuffed surface like ur bed? that makes a difference u kno. maybe ur blocking the ventilation

sigh. is the weather hot where u are? are u putting ur laptop on ur bed? or on a stuffy surface?
same thing happened to me before. ur laptop can overheat esp if ur downloading a huge file and ventilation is pooorr. lol

otherwise, take ur laptop to circuit city or best buy. they have technicians there to figure and help u solve ur problems.

let it rest for a while say 1-2 hrs
dont do nothing
and DO NOT use ur system on a soft surface the ventilation goes on under if u block it, ur system will definitely over heat and act like a 5 year old girl
