You are all happy now because your brothers are bombing and destroying pipe lines like you were all glad when the boko boys were killing.. When it is their own time to lose please don't come here crying for your brothers because you all know how the story will end.
What annoys me most with the ibos is that they will all support a wrong doing by an individual who is only trying to enrich his or her pocket. Like Tompolo did. They supported him, they made him rich and yet he stole their billions and ran away, my brothers please let's be wise. When they all achieved their aims you will be the one with the problems.
When Boko haram started most northern homes were hiding and shielding them.. Now they have no home to shield themselves..Boko haram took away their homes and replace it with IDP camp. There is consequences for all our actions.

Validated:
Thought army arrested their leaders. Confusion everywhere!!

Abeg Buhari if you or any of your aides read this, call Tompolo and negotiate. The innocent people are suffering this show of power. Truth is that the cost of trying to end amnesty far outweigh the stipends paid to the militants. When this excalates, it would be telling on your administration's already failing programmes.

To all those advocating military option, it is now on record that Nigeria has dropped to No. 2 oil producer in Africa, losing approximately 800,000 barrels per day. Simply put, we are losing $38.4M daily or $1.2Billion monthly. This is aside the losses associated with gas leaks, poor electricity supply, loss man-hour, cost of repairing damaged facilities and the costs associated with keeping the army, navy and police in the bushes and creeks. These are facts that the Hon. Minister of Finance should be giving to Mr. President and not sycophancy!

The wise dialogue while the stubborn and foolish push for war! The latter is an ill-wind that blows no-one no good!!!

Buhari should just be pragmatic and negotiate with these guys... you have thousands of kilometres of oil pipelines and gas pipelines scattered over the delta... Based on our current level of technology, the armed forces just don't have the wherewithal to challenge these guys. It's becoming embarrassing.

Continue degrading your land, very soon Dangote refinery would soon take off and crude oil had been found outside the Niger Delta.
Be sincere for once!
Which one pains you more?
Degradation (of an already degraded environment) or the loss of revenue to the government?

I don't know how many people including commentators on Nairaland realize that Nigeria is in a state of undeclared emergency. Crude oil prices are down and yet our production has been cut by nearly 50%. Herdsmen have turned the country to a killing field. Criminals are on the prowl, power supply is worse than erratic and epileptic while inflation is spiraling. I do not support criminality in any form and by any group. However, I can tell you that the military cannot protect the pipelines (even if they wish to). Some of us apparently don't understand the pipeline networks or terrain in the creeks. Government needs to demonstrate dexterity and pragmatism in managing the multiplicity of issues. Tough talk is good but sorry, it wont solve this problem. Deal with the underlying drivers of restiveness in the region and thereafter, it will be easier to isolate and deal with the criminals who exploit extant grievances to feather their own nest.
