I am deeply pained u could make such a pathetic comment even in this moment of tragedy. U think u are the one protecting yourself right?

God will soon give you a shocking reply for questioning his promises of protection. I only pray he does so with mercy.

Everything happens for a reason, & in all things I believe we owe God thanksgiving rather than question him.

May the souls of the departed RIP & may the survivals recover soonest in Jesus name. (Amen)

issue is when you are driving everyother driver is mad . its your duty to be at alert nd control ur speed. if it was a moderate speed chances re high that he wont lose control or be tempted to press break urging a somersault. i might b wrong tho but i see speed here
It must av bin a result of over speeding and d driver match the break on high speed wch result to the bus somersault... RIP to the dead and I a pray 4 quick recovery for d injured

Ibule is just few mins away from north gate, prolly 3-5mins, guess d driver was speeding... may dia soul RIP
Re: Four FUTA Students Die In Accident In Ondo by Charles4075(m): 9:32pm On May 21, 2016
The main cause of this accident was definitely High-speed. Though the okada man crashed into them but had the driver maintained a cruise speed of 80km/hr, it would have been avoided. Because as a driver, every other driver on the high-way is a lunatic and you definitely have to be alert every second, minute.

The same ish always occur at okada along benin-ore expressway. You'll just see those dumb head okada men crossing the high-way without careful examination if a car is approaching at high-speed.

Like I always say : ''Timing Beats Speed and Precision Beats Power''. R.I.P to the dead and may their gentle soul rest eternally in perfect peace. Amen.

My condolences to RCF family and to FUTA at large.

May God grant their families to bear the loss!!!

Ilesa-Akure road, one of the best in South-West. So frequent on the road . Atimes you get tempted to cruise on high speed....but a second thought of 'drive safely ' creeps in.
Sunset at noon!

For the lives that were lost, I say, eternal rest grant unto them oh Lord and let your perpetual light shine upon them.
For those still alive, we say thank you Jesus for keeping them and I also pray for a perfect healing for them.
When I read stories like this I can't help but thank God for my life, I did a lot of travelling while in school most especially church outings, ranging from alumni weddings ( some of them I no meet them for school oooo, but we must go because some of them were past choristers who sometimes request we come sing at their wedding Mass) Oke Maria pilgrimages, Priestly ordinations, diocesan programmes without telling my mum because I know she would not even hear of it, she hates travelling and she wouldn't even allow you. For departmental outings like the conference we had in PH, I had to tell her my HOD made it compulsory for us in the department before she agreed reluctantly and she nearly had heart attack when she called at 12 midnight and we were still on the road trying to locate the University of Port Harcourt. There was even one journey I went for without telling her, I travelled from school to Awka for FILM (forum for inculturation of liturgical music) competition and all through the journey, the devil was playing with my mind but our heavenly father showed that he is still the living and loving God, he made the journey smooth. But what always kept me going then was that I was always telling my self that "afterall I am going for God's work, so I can't die even if I don't tell my parents", this case has changed my perspective now, when your time is up no matter what you're doing or what you have done, you will be called home. RIP to the dead

A PRESS STATEMENT FROM THE STUDENTS' UNION GOVERNMENT OF THE FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, AKURE.

1. With heavy heart the students' union government received the information about the fatal accident that happened today at Ibule soro.

2. It was an unfortunate, tragedy that befall the entire staff, management and the students' of this institution

3. They(victims) were actually on a private journey to Ibadan to attend a missionary conference after the night vigil they had at redeem Christian fellowship.

4. It was so unfortunate that after a stressful night with fatigue kick they started the journey.

5. The accident involved a Toyota hiace bus with 15 students on board(one from UNIBEN, one PGD student and 13 undergraduates from FUTA) and a motorcycle which was the cause of the accident. It was so sad that a students who participated in the vigil drived the bus.

6. The driver lost control when he(driver) wanted to avoid a crash with the rider of the motorcycle and the driver in trying to save the collision with the OKADA man, the bus somersaulted more than three times; they were immediately rushed to private hospitals and at the end four of the victims gave up the ghost; on this day sadness and sorrow engulf the entire members of the union and the management.

7. As of the time of filling this statement the remaining students' are responding to treatment; we therefore on behalf of the entire students uses this medium to commend the effort of the university management for the vital role played in resuscitating the life of some of the victims. Your action today had demonstrated your caring heart to the students' of this University, not forgetting the FRSC officials and the students that donated blood.

7. It is to be noted that the accident does not in anyway relate to CSP210 as been rumoured by some set of miscreants whose sole aims is to secure the opportunity to cause a mayhem on campus

8. The students' union hereby cease this opportunity to commiserate with the fellowship, friends, mate, and most especially the family of the deceased on this irreparable loss and it is our prayer that God should give them the fortitude to bear the loss. Amen
9. It is also important to inform the entire students populace to join us in prayer to avert such reoccurrence and for God's mercy to bring back two of the victims who are in critical condition which has been refer to specialist hospital for proper medical attention

10. The students' union hereby declare three days mourning which takes effect from 12am tomorrow and as such all staff of the union(tenants) and in extension those selling things on campus are to stay off work during this period of mourning any individual that goes otherwise might not be able to tell the story, consequently SUG flags has been lowered; this is part of the activities line up by the union to pay our respect for these fallen hero

11. Finally, we urge all FUTARIANS to be calm and prayerful as everything is now under control.

We pray the love of God enfolds us during this difficult times and he helps us heal with the passage of time.

Thanks
