Excuse me.... a City is simply a large town, and Nigeria has plenty of that.

They are all in bad state...except Abuja.

Ok, I didn't want to comment on this thread, don't have time for dumb argument, but I can't just allow some people shallow and retard post go unanswered, it will be a sin not to enlighten this few.

Am currently serving here in Ibadan, and I can say authoritatively , you can NEVER compare any City in the East, be it Enugu, awka, or onitsha to Ibadan in terms of infrastructure, take it from some one who stayed in Enugu, the so call pride of the east.
And to those screaming slum and red roofs, how many time will it be said that Ibadan is an ANCIENT city(the first of almost everything) is here, incase you don't knw what ancient means, it means Very old, like Venice, u get now?
Ibadan is sooooo big you can't cover it in 6month, yea, soooooo big.
The ancient part, with the red roofs with very good roads, water and electricty(my ppa is here) and the modern part.
And for those of you just passing through Lagos/Ibadan express and just concluding from what you see by the road, y'all urgently need help.
This is a statement of fact so you chest beating souls can now move on. Thread closed!

If cities were so easy to develop, why isn't Zimbabwe or even SA slum free by now?

You try, you know Ibadan small but you can't me more "Ibadan" than I am. Apart from the recent robbery and assassination you stated, all others you stated were years ago when PDP was ruling the state with Thugs and Hooligans. The Fele you mentioned has stabilized NURTW since he became the chairman, when last did you hear them killing and fighting over Control of garage? To add a comic relief, I can make a call in traffic and roll down my car windows in Ibadan without fear of my phone been snatched like Lagos. I can park my car anywhere on the street without fear of my brain box or other parts stolen. I love Ibadan night life. I can drive at anytime without fear or molestation. When last did you hear of fights from Iwo Road to Idi Ape to BusStop/ Gate to Oje to Beere to Molete to Orita Challenge to Ring Road or Apata.
If there is anything Ajumobi got right, it's the peace and tranquility in Ibadan City. I can spend months in Lagos but I love to retire to Ibadan peacefully. Even the cult boys at Apete have cooled down. Give kudos. I'm sorry but people that were killed like you said, RIP to them. We are told not to speak ill of the dead but who knows the kind of shady deals they got themselves involved in? May we not offend people that NEVER FORGIVE AND FORGET. My dear don't be scared. If you can't live in Ibadan peacefully, how do you want to live in LAGOS.

I wanna add something to this: I drove Benz E350 2010 Model without plate number for the period of about 6months in ibadan, I'm a nightlife guy and i drove this car all through this period, always out for nightfun every wednessday, friday n saturday and i do touches almost every clubs every-night before going back home.I have never experienced any hey hey or arm robbery through this period, almost every junction, you see a police post every night.. so IB night GOONs can testify to this.. IB govt try in term in security aspect! All other aspect might be poor but d security aspect. Kudus to dem!

Hey Mr, if you are going to ever quote me, u need to atleast have a pair of functioning brain. FYI, am not from ibadan, allow me to educate you, serving in a state where you are from or where you schooled is not allowed, meaning, I wouldn't be serving here if I was from here, getit? And what I said is simple FACT, I wouldn't argue with any dimwit about it.

Baba don spam the whole Nairaland with these pictures. On this thread alone, you'll
find the pictures on almost every page

Kind of like an ugly girl who takes 500 pictures but only 10 of them look okay so she
organizes an exhibition for everyone to see the 10

What do You mean by that? Where do you know in Abia? Actually ibadan shouldn't be a City to be too proud of. I would not like to compare with any city as I was exceedly disappointed my first month in Ibadan. Ibadan has considerable large population with little to no govt presence. Unless you want to lie to yourself
thank you for making me to spill a whole bottle of Pepsi on my keyboard due to an uncontrollable laughter . I never knew that a comedian like you on nairaland would make my day with your post

2) Kaduna ahead of Kano? Wtf
how did you rate this crap?
In my own rating.
1. Lagos
2. Abuja
3. Port Harcourt
4. Enugu
5. Calabar

Notice they were all capitals of Nigeria except Enugu which was the capital of the old eastern region. Shows we haven't really developed

there must be somtin great about that IBADAN-y does it get MENTIONs from everibodi? SE\SS should just admit defeat, no city (excluding lagos, abuja and probably PH ) is comparable to ibadan interms of everitin-commercially, industrially, educationally, physically, internationally and historically. ibadan is second face of lagos... camparing enugu, calabar, akwa, onitsha, owerri, warri, asaba to ibadan is a big blow...
