EduRegard:
Relationships have become something that people have misunderstood. Relationship is actually a divine orchestration which we cannot do without and I believe that with a proper understanding of it, people would grow to treasure relationships.

Relationship is an institution set up to create interaction between people so as to ensure continuity of life, balance of nature and inner satisfaction for everybody. Relationship brings men of like minds together to build a great thing, it inspires love in people for friendship. Relationship keeps the world moving and the earth spinning.

Even though there are different kinds of relationship, sexual relationship seems to be the most important for the continuity of life. The race of men will cease to exist if it vanishes, and the world will be a wasteland. Sexual relationship exist also to satisfy the urge and sexual desire of every man.

From a Nigeria-based statistics, it has been discovered that, the most enduring sexual relationships that exists are actually those that started while at school such as tertiary institutions, because at the time, folks are still young, tender and sincere, and these relationships make it through to marriage. The same cannot be spoken of for those who are already out of school and are looking for somebody they barely know to build a relationship with, most of the opportunities that surface usually end up as a “trial and error”. Therefore, I am opined that, apart from learning and skill development which is imparted at school, it is also an opportunity where good relationship structures can be built.

The only disadvantage I see in engaging in sexual relationship while at school is distraction from academics, but if folks can keep themselves in check and also desist from entering relationship in the early stages of their stay at school, it can work. Distractions are normal things for everyone to face, a universal examination that everyone go through and it should not be an excuse for not going into relationship.

However, I must highlight here that, by sexual relationships, I do not mean that the parties involved can perform illicit acts while at school, but I am talking about the beautiful sexual relationship of love, affection, hopes and passion that leads into the beautiful institution that we call “marriage”, where the certificate called “beautiful kids” is received. It should remain clean and the parties undefiled until the marriage tent has been entered.

Now, what's your take on this?

Your priority in school is to learn, read and excel in your tests and exams. Not fornicate up and down.

I stayed away from relationships in University... Till my 200 level. Started 'liking' one lady. Had a test and did very badly. That was the warning for me. I immediately ceased the attraction and focused on my studies.

By the grace of God, I came out top 3 in my department. Mechanical Engineering.... I do not think I would be where I am today if I had continued that attraction.

Know your priority. Follow it. It's as simple as that.

JuanDeDios:

Where is that in the Bible?

Matthew 15: 19
For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications , thefts, false witness, slanders

1 Corinthians 6:18
Flee immorality . Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body

1 Corinthians 6:9
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals
(homosexuality is included above)

1 Corinthians 7:12
But because of immoralities, each man is to have his own wife, and each woman is to have her own husband

(can you see the above?)

I'm sorry to say this but if you find any of this passages STRANGE, you need to change your pastors and your Church. Your Church will destroy you.

To all those bringing in religious slant to a social question, is cheating in exams, money for marks not a sin?

In Higher institutions a cardinal practice is time management, which is the reason for the time table; allocate credit hour and space for relationship or carry over and do it later in marriage, whichever suits you, if you can't stand the distraction.

Besides what if one couldn't pass the course at first attempt?
What if your first attempt is in marriage and you fail, you "re-sit", Which in marriage equals what?

forgive me , your IQ is approaching zero!
If animals can engaged in sex act without any form of practice , you think a man who has a sense of reasoning need experience (outside marriage) to keep a happy sex life in marriage?

Very predictable!

Listen, bruv. You're making what is called a "definitional assumption". You assume that fornication = sex between unmarried people. The Greek word translated fornication is pornea and pornea simply means "sexual sin". What you and those who share your view are doing is assuming that sexual sin = sex among people who are not married. Maybe you're right, but you have prove it. If the verses are there, you should be able to find them. For example, if I ask you where in the criminal code killing a human being (not in execution of a court judgement is a crime), you will refer me to the Criminal Code where it not only talks about "murder", but also defines murder as "killing a human (not in execution of a judgement)".

So, again, I ask you, where does it say in the Bible that sex between two unmarried people is automatically a sin?

Where in the constitution was it stated that killing a 50 year old man in Lagos Island is wrong?

The constitution only stated that rape is criminal and punishable; but where was it stated that raping a 12 year old virgin girl (an Efik-Ibibio precisely) is criminal and punishable?

The constitution only mentioned rape, it didn't talk about rape with or without a condom.

You sound like a kid and certainly can't handle this. Anyway, it's the Criminal Code and the Penal Code, not the Constitution. And, yes, the CC and the PC do define murder and rape. Go find the CC and read. Obviously, you only read the Bible.
