I think dumsor has to do with electricity rationing. If I may ask, what is the origin or story behind that word 'dumsor'? I hear it a lot. Is it a Ghanian word that means something? I don't want to believe that Ghanian situation is as bad as what we've always had in Nigeria. Two years ago, I could go 3weeks and even more without a blink at Interbeton Estate in Cape Coast. In Nigeria, we've all learnt to make our own provisions, which is not quite so in Ghana.

The term is a combination of two words. 'Dum-sor' literally means 'off' (dum) and 'on'(sor) in Ghana's Akan language, and it was coined as a result the frequency with the lights came and went(they often stayed briefly, i must say) at the height of the power crises. Hope this helps.

Hello. Can you kindly go take down the post where you accused me of being a thief on my thread. Thanks.
