A photocopy of a letter has been made available to the press that pre-information details of May 30 rally, Biafran Day. The police claimed ignorance of the letter.

OP, to be honest with you, what you needed was a Written Approval from the police granting Permission to Carry out the Peaceful Rally. It not enough to inform them, get their explicit approval and co-operation in future.

The police always deny knowledge of things like this.

Information is not the same as approval, and even approval is not a license for violence

Please GINJALAND.com follows Radio Biafra on fb and the group started releasing pictures of dead and wounded ones inside catholic church by 4am, and yes as a blogger I was awake then to see gory images all over FB.

We need to be fair to all and sundry, we all know how high handed the govt security agencies are.

You are ignorant. The constitution did not prescribe permission or approval from anybody to qualify for a right to peaceful protest or demonstration. Every person has a universal INALIENABLE RIGHT to protest, demonstrate or embark on strike. so be warned, stop exposing your ignorance.

So your only source was Radio Biafra, the radio station promoting the interests of the same group protesting?

You don't need police approval for any rally. Gani Fawhemi went to court( up to the supreme court) and got judgement on this. It is in the constitution. Check it out.
