Niger Delta Avengers Condemns Attack On Soldiers, Vows To Fish Out Killers by vorigan: 11:22am On Jun 03, 2016
Niger Delta Avengers, the militant group responsible for renewed hostilities in the Niger-Delta region, on Thursday condemned the killing of military personnel in the area, promising the victims’ families that those responsible for the heinous act would be “brought to book.”

The condemnation followed accusations that the group was responsible for attacks on a military houseboat in Ejere, a creek in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, which left at least two soldiers dead.

In a statement signed by Mudoch Agbinibo, the Avengers condemned all acts of violence against military and civilians, declaring “the days of killing and kidnapping” over.

“Killing of sleeping soldiers is not our style,” the Avengers said in an update posted on its website. “We promise the world that in this process of liberating our people, not a single blood of Nigeria soldiers will be wasted despite the provocation.”

“Our war is on oil installations not to take innocent lives.”

Mr. Agbinibo assured “the families of the affected soldiers that we will bring the culprits to book.”
The Avengers, therefore, issued a stern warning to other “freedom fighters” in the region to emulate its style of ensuring that no innocent person would be killed in the course of its agitation.

“This message is going to all groups parading themselves as freedom fighters. You can fight for your people without killing innocent souls NDA have (sic) proved it. We were able to drop Nigeria oil production from 2 million barrels (per day) to just 800,000 barrels without killing a soul. We are warning every group to follow our footsteps.”

The group claimed responsibility for a series of bombings that rocked Chevron, Agip and NNPC oil and gas installations across the Niger Delta in the last few days.

Last night, it claimed on its favourite communication platform, Twitter, that it blew up “Ogboinbiri to Tebidaba and Clough Creek to Tebidaba crude oil pipelines in Bayelsa State,” as part of its campaign to bring Nigeria’s oil production output to “zero.”

On Wednesday, the Avengers said it was responsible for the destruction of Chevron oil wells RMP 23 and RMP 24, and mocked Nigeria’s military for being only “good in harassing innocent civilians.”

Nigerian military pushed back against the militants’ claims that it had become helpless in the circumstance, saying it would not be negligent in its obligations to Nigerians.

“The Defence Headquarters wishes to emphasize that the Nigerian Armed Forces will not relent in their efforts to flush out economic saboteurs masquerading under whatever guise to perpetuate evils in the Niger Delta,” Rabe Abubakar, the Acting Director of Defence Information, said in a statement.

Last month, the group rejected a meeting convened in Abuja by the federal government, warning of its readiness to carry out an attack that will “shock the whole world”

“The Niger Delta stakeholder’s meeting is an insult to the people of Niger Delta. What we need is a Sovereign State not pipeline Contracts,” the group said.

Is this on their twitter handle? Anyways the NDA have always said that their plan is to cripple the economy and not kill people. We must also understand that there are different groups springing up apart from the NDA. The ones that threatened to launch missles are not NDA are they?

That aside, the NDA should know that they are actually killing a lot of people by their activities against the economy. Things are so difficult now and Nigerians are dying because they cannot afford very little things like malaria drugs, people don't eat well, people are thinking a lot these days leading to HBP because of NDA activities. So whichever way, the NDA should know that thier activities have already caused the death of many Nigerians.

Ever since Buhari and Lai entered govt, we have had nothing but lies and bad news.

First NDA says they will kill soldiers, now they will fish out killers.
This is beginning to sound like the typical APC lies again.

Just like Boko Haram has been technically defeated, yet the same Boko Haram are claiming local govts.

This is surely the most confused govt Nigeria has ever had..

The scared person Na buhari oh, no be am cancel going to ogoni

Buhari Na real Coward in Chief.

Darammliveth:
I wonder why the federal government have not sort out things with them.... I don't see anything like one Nigeria!

Buhari himself said that the 5% wont be treated like others, that statement alone shows division.

Not only that its obvious that buhari is first governing for the north , then he considers the south- west.
With him ignoring the south-south and south-east.
Remember he practising Northocracy in a democratic system, where most of the appointments are reserved for the north.

the Oil in the Niger Delta is what caused Nigeria problem. the problem in Nigeria is nothing but greed. there are people who don't just want the states in Niger Delta to grow ahead of them. example are the west and north. this two region are the problem of this country. socking blood.

let go back to the drawing board. the earlier we tell ourselves the truth. and the better for the future of this country. otherwise we will keep delaying the future of this great country. security should be a state or regional problem and not federal government.

if the yoruba in western Nigeria happens to be sitting on the Niger Delta oil well they wouldn't have allowed northerners to owned their well.

the people from Niger Delta are sympathizers of the Niger Delta Avengers. it will be a mission impossible. the Nigeria military can easily be picked without cover, ambushed or sellout by locals. read guerilla warfare from wikipedia.

I see some people telling buhari to crushed the Niger Delta Avengers. some of who don't even know what is called gorilla warfare. for those who are ignorant of it should go and watch Rambo First Blood movie by Sylvester stallone. one man can kill 2000 army. because you don't even know the people you are fighting or looking for. you might even drink with your enemy in the same bar not knowing.

the pictures below is want my dictionary say about federalism. is that what we have in Nigeria? let go back to discuss the 2014 confab.

I'm sure they suspect that the government/military might have done it to blame them...that's why they are eager to fish them out.

Fight for what you believe in without shedding innocent blood. If this is what they stand for then I think their cause is Just. It only requires the FG to listen to their terms and bring something to the table and watch if they will accept their offer.

Can't you argue without not bringing Yoruba into your argument, what happen to 13% oil derivation your government are receiving as oil producing state, abi it's Yoruba that are spending the money?

You people always attack Yoruba as if we are the one reaping all the benefit of oil in your state. And in case you don't know, Yoruba states are among the states that are receiving lowest allocation from the FG (excluding Ondo which also server as oil producing state). Despite this, we are the most peaceful of all regions in Nigeria, North are terrorizing Nigeria with their Boko haram, South.S/South.E are doing their own with militancy and secession issue. Lagos arguably the most developed state in Nigeria is striving on her internal revenue and not oil money, Fourth mainland bridge that will cost billions of naira is on the shoulder of the state with zero assistance from outside the state . And you still have the gut to say West never want your region to develop angry.

And if you think NDA are fighting for majority interest, you're wrong because their are just another Tompolo and Asari Dokubo in making. Their leaders will later become billionaire while you supporting their rich course will not benefit anything from their wealth.
