Metronaija confirmed the death of 75 year old Mrs Bridget, a trader at the Wambai market.

She was accused by a mob of blasphemy and was beaten to death. The Nigerian Police Force have said she was not beheaded as was earlier reported.

Her husband has also corroborated this claim in a press conference as he said she was beaten to death.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the killing as the search for all the men involved in the mob action continues.

Whether beheaded or beaten to death, the fact is she died a needless death. The Police should spare us the narrative of her death and bring the culprits to book.

I believe asking the Police to release a picture of the decease will be a fools effort. However, were are all these so called women right groups in Nigeria, who scream their lungs out whenever a woman/girl is abused?
