In Southern Nigeria, the cities globally recognised for urban agglomeration are Lagos, Ibadan, Benin, Port Harcourt, Ogbomosho. They are all over a million. None of Abeokuta, Ilorin and etc. You cant put any of them ahead of Ogbomosho in population. Ogun has a state may have as much population as Oyo or more especially as they have more WAEC registrants but it may be that many in Oyo dont go to school. Ogun has Abeokuta, Ijebu, Shagamu and etc maybe Ogun has many towns. Then there are people in the East but spread into small towns former villages. A place like Enugu is similar in population to Osun according to WAEC registration but the place has Enugu and Nsukka as well known cities both university towns but Osun has Osogbo, Ilesa, Ife as well known but I believe population is similar. So your data that puts Abeokuta, Ilorin and etc over Ogbomosho is wrong. In the North recognised cities are Kano, Kaduna, Maiduguri and Abuja 4 of them, South is 5. 2 Likes 1 Share |
