Kefee died in a Los Angeles hospital after being in a coma for fifteen days. She died as a result of lung failure. The Nigerian music industry mourned her passing. Before her death she was widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s best singers. In 2012, she married on-air-personality Teddy Esosa Don Momoh. She was formerly married to label boss Alec Godwin.
