The truth no one will tell you is , the higher the rating , the higher the noise and vise vasa , except you are not running the gen on full load .

if u will buy sumec buy big one because that small one u uploaded is one week one problem.

The common fault with the one uploaded is starting coil problem .

My advice will be for you to go for a good Japanese product like a Honda Elemax 2900 if you need low noise and durability and if money is not an issue. I have been using one I bought for 85k since 2006 and it is still serving me. All I do each month is to ensure the servicing every month. Any other brand aside this will only sap your pocket and will not deliver service.

I would say sumec. I have three at home. Unfortunately there is no way of telling if you are buying a genuine one. Also there is no way of telling which generation it is.

Firman, tiger, Elepaq, elepon, are all generic generators assembled in China solely for the purpose of making money. Those behind these generators are not interested in building a brand that will last, but a cow they will milk to death and move on from. I am saying this because the pattern is the first batch of any of these items sold in Nigeria is very good, which builds the market and buyer confidence. However, the quality drops with successive batches fabricated, so that the profit will increase.

Thermocool Generator is good. One year use wit no issue only normal changing of oil. Can carry small fridge, charge inverter batteries and also with washing machine and iron too, also can be use to power water pumping machine. The more the load the higher it's fuel consumption.

I don't use them at once, I use them at different times based on my requirements

Baby gen for 12am to 7 am , mummy gen for general use, daddy gen for ironing, using the pump, vacuum cleaner

Three to 6months, depends on usage, u also check the color atimes, if it's too dark, u change it, using original mobile or total oil, not the ones sold in Eva plastic bottle...

I don't think they do. Buy from trusted shops e.g park n shop, game etc. You can buy from anywhere as far it meets the anti-fake criteria.

Sumec 1800 is too faulty and expensive and d parts are scare better go sumec of tiger size dat 1 will serve u better

That small Tiger gen is always a tale of woes despite the much touted fuel efficiency it has. If you can totally service that small Tiger gen by yourself without having to call an engine mechanic for every fault then go with the small Tiger, but mind you, that Tiger has at least 3 variants in the market {main original, China original and China substandard} and you won't believe the price of the main original one if they told you. Hence they will rather keep selling the cheaper and substandard ones rather than trying to convince you that Original Tiger is 28k thereabouts.

As for the Sumec firman, I'd rather advice you buy a 'firman' product. There's a difference between firman and Sumec firman, the guy that was advertising Ezechuddy can enlighten us more. But if you are going for the firman, be sure to have an above average maintenance habit towards it, that 1.8kva gen has a constant need for regular oil gauging and changing. Change the oil once every month and service it every 2 months or thereabouts and it's a darling.


Talking about fuel consumption, it all depends on a combination of these factors - the ability of your mechanic to adjust your carburettor for less fuel consumption, the power output you tune on the engine {that screw you use to 'high' the engine} and the load it's carrying . When I use the small firman 1800, I put off unnecessary bulbs and those that must be on are energy saving bulbs. 1litre lasts for about 3hrs with freezer, could last longer without the freezer and any unnecessary fans.
