Fellow Nairaland users, the issue of religious belief is taking a different toll in our everyday lives at present; lives have been lost due to the consequences of religious belief and i think we should debate on that and let the public know that they have the right to say NO and face reality.

As a matter of fact, last week an undergraduate student of one of the universities here in the south south, died as a result of this religious belief; the girl would have survived if the parents took the advice of the doctor ; that she desperately needs BLOOD transfusion but because the parents are members of JEHOVA WITNESS, they refused the transfusion and suggested an alternative method ie feeding the sick girl with Pumkin leaves(Ugu).

Unfortunately, the young undegraduate, gave-up her ghost and every dream,aspiration,goal and purpose of her living died with the girl all because of religious belief.

And she is the first child of the family and a 300 level social science student, so sad!!!

What should be done to her parents,  because the girl would not have had the chance of making a choice while was on her sick bed.
