The Chief Judge of Anambra state, Justice Peter Umeadi has said the state judiciary would establish courts for alternative dispute resolutions.

Umeadi said the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed had given the approval through the Multi-Door Court House scheme.

A Multi-Door Court house handles matters mostly on arbitration under Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Umeadi disclosed this while swearing in two Deputy Chief Registrars, Mrs Udeora Philip Chibueze and Mr Peter Chinonyelu of the state High court.

He said Anambra State was one of the states to benefit from the pilot scheme of the National Judicial Council.

The CJ stated that ADR was the trend the world over, stressing that it was the most peaceful way to settle disputes without much waste of time, unlike the litigation method.

He implored the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano to do the needful so that the scheme would take off in the state in earnest.
