Please How Long Does It Take For ATM Debit Error To Reverse? by montanaguy(m): 9:28am On Jul 03, 2016
I tried using Sterling bank Atm machine in Awka to withdraw the sum of twenty thousand naira (20,000) on 30 Jun 2016 with Union bank Atm card. After first attemp, dispalyed message says unable to complete. Within a second, I received debit alert of 20,000 on my phone. I proceeded to the Union bank to lodge a complaint. I was adviced to wait for 24hrs and if the money does not reverse, I should come back. I waited for 24hrs and it did not reverse. I had to go back to the bank. I was given a form to fill. Thereafter, my complaint was sent to Sterling bank without any assurance of when the money will reverse. I was asked to go home and keep checking my account because I might not get an alert when its reversed. I have been visiting Atm machines without any positive result. Now my landlord is on my neck becaused I budgeted that money for my house rent. He does not even want to listen to my excuse. Please nairalanders, what should I do because its not easy to borrow money this days considering the dwindling economy. Should I continue to wait indefinate or put some pressure on the manager of the branch of Sterling bank? But I learnt that reversing the money can only be done from their headquater. Please advice me. Thanks.
