All these posters above sef. SMH.

Please there's something known as (a) 'PLEA BARGAIN'

It is an agreement as a result of negotiation between the prosecution and defense (at times, also the judge) which settles a criminal case, usually in exchange for a more lenient punishment.

Typically the defendant will plead guilty to a lesser crime or for fewer charges than originally charged, in exchange for a more lenient punishment than the defendant would get if convicted at trial.

In financial matters, it typically involves the return of all (or most) of the total monies which the was proved to have been mismanaged by the defendant.

It is seen as a win-win for all parties as the prosecution has a certain conviction on the record, the defendant is provided a more lenient sentence than the risk of a higher one at trial and the judge is freed to move to other cases and disputes to resolve.

A Plea Bargain may have been effected by the EFCC and the defendants, hence a 'Dismissal' of the ensuing Court case.

Everything No Be Politics ooooo, my fellow Nigerian youths. Some na LAW.

From where did you get a plea bargain took place. The article is very clear. Their names were struck off due to them not being around. So where did you get Plea Bargain from?

Yu must not see it. If an accused is not in court to take his plea, yu cannot continue in his absence or it will be an exercise in futility to do so.

•Was the accused party properly and validly 'served'?
•Were details of the charges made available to him/her?
•Was the absent party's absence as a result of a validly prescribed Court Order/Accepted Application from the Party's Counsel?

If all your answers to the above are in the negative, then I am sorry - but THE CASE SHALL GO ON UNHINDERED, AND THE PARTIES SHALL BE SO BOUND BY THE COURT'S RULING AT THE END.

That's the Law sir. (Would have cited cases if I had my 'tools' with me).

A Plea Bargain does not need to be 'Advertised'. (EFCC lawyers and the defendant's team of Counsel could effectively arrive at such a bargain). And as the facts state that the Application was made by the Prosecution, it only lends credence to this opinion.
It is a procedure bordering on the principles of Equity.
The logic is; the accused party was being prosecuted in a bid to recover the sum, and be punished for the act. But after taking into consideration a number of factors (including duration of trial, cost of prosecution, backlog of cases awaiting/undergoing trial, etc), the prosecution could raise the option of plea bargain. That way, they cut down on manhours and resources, and still get the money from the person.

The option of Plea Bargain is usually used by Economic Crimes Prosecutors in jurisdictions around the world.

i told y'all that the corruption fight is just to distract the masses from the real issues on ground. Buhari can never successfully try anyone of corruption cases and convict that person. If i am lying point out one to me. Buhari can not live to his campaign promises, the only way he can clinch to power is to come up with illusory figures stolen by the pdpians. Apc got to power via and wanna rule Nigeria via propaganda. No thanks to the zombieees their robots.

Why are you jumping the Gun. Looters are being charged to court everyday allow the judiciary do it's work . The wheels of justice may roll slowly but surely will not allow any thief escape. By the time convictions start coming in you might want to eat your words.

There is no hint of a plea bargain. The application made by the prosecution was in respect of Diezani and Aluko not available for the trial. The author of the article clearly stated "application to this effect." Not an application for a plea bargain.

There is no hint what so ever of a plea bargain. I doubt we should come to that conclusion without any hint.
