Our youths have a big problem,whether they read without understanding or they don't understand simple sentences,i don't know. It's funny we as Nigerians refuse to constantly upgrade ourselves and increase our knowledge. Back to d matter, am happy they put a cap on the so called putme,schools would stop charging outrageous amounts for the exam,ad for the points to be used,time will tell if it's a good idea or not.as for those who think we should do things digitally,I simply ask,isn't d jamb cbt,what else do u want?when most schools don't do their putme as cbt exams

no kind of test will be conducted. either cbt or ppt.

post-utme screening will involve;

1. upload o'level to a portal
2. an aggregate score will be awarded the candidate based on a combination of o'level results and utme score.
3. candidate is offered admission based on aggregate score.
4. candidate is invited for screening which is like an interview, to see the candidate physically and ask a few questions.

step 4 is a formality; if there are no witches following the candidate and documents are original, step 3 has already offered admission to the candidate.

If d value is not known d abuse is inevitable. So what do u expect from both parties. CBT on their own side had too much lapses and it was cost effective.

I think the FG in the post is tryin to let the public know that they will still be Post utme.. And it won't be CBT as it was before but PPT (pencil, paper, test) .. And the instituition should charge nothing more than 2500 naira includin the bank share.. ''Sustain'' in the post there means that Putme should be allow to continue for a period of time. putme screening nw is no longer exam writing whether cbt or ppt. Schools can screen candidates in any other format provided it doesnt require exam writing. a sch can decide to screen al candidates in oral format. Like an interview. Though point system is wat most schools will use as bases of admission according to jamb. D system is cool cuz it gives value to those A and B u ve in waec. Its calculated like dis.
1 ssce sitting = 10marks.
2 ssce sitting = 2marks.
5 Core ssce subjects. For science, its maths, eng, phy, chem nd bio.
A=6 B=4 C=3. Lets say u scored maths A, eng A, phy C, bio C, chem B. Thats 6+6+3+3+4= 22.
The next point is the UTME scores where each score range has its equivalent point which can be summarised thus,
180-200=20-23 marks, 200-250=24-33
points, 251-300=34-43, 300-400=44-60
points.
For example a candidate with 180-185 gets 20 points, while a candidate with 186-190 gets 21 points.
Lets say u got 238. Thats 30points.
So, add ur no of waec sitting points , waec points and jamb points to get ur total. Thats 62 points. Then u sit back and wait for ur dept to release their point cut off. If urs is above, u are more likely to be admitted.

There is no confusion here. Some people just decided to confuse themselves, the new screening method was explained since graciously by premium reporters, but some,for one reason or the other, decided to insult them and declare them unintelligent, now they have been redeemed. You guys should quietly start praying for your provisional admision first, don't worry about the screening yet, once you are given a provisional admission you must enter school, though the course may be changed

Miss, no one is going back to analog or whatever. What this means is that, in line with the minister's earlier directives that Post-UTME, post-JAMB, Aptitude test or what ever name you know it by, remains cancelled.

Screening of candidates wouldn't involve any form of examination (whether CBT or "analog" because candidates have already done that when the sat for JAMB abi UTME. And that the amount to be paid for that screening is a flat rate of N2500 (bank and "hidden charges" inclusive) across all universities.

And the said screening now involves vetting your UTME scores, SSCE results by grading, catchment area etc. Maybe oral interview. No more exams after JAMB.

Young man,the Minister is just a single Man. The decision is on behalf of the national body of VCs,Rectors and Provosts. Moreso,the Permanent Secretary was in attendance; indicating the support of the Minister!

Are u Serious? Kindly check the last paragraph and maybe clarify if its a joint agreement or the STANCE of the Union. maybe you didn't read it well

I sure buy the idea of pegging a price for the screening but scrapping CBT? Where on earth are we heading for?

Good development but both CBT & PPT should be allowed. However, #2500 pegging of fees is a VERY good idea.

This is another higher state of confusion in this present admnistration.will not making use of computer in the conduct of the examination make it not to be called POST UTME again.? This is as good as a step forward,three steps backward. #GODSAVENAIJA
