my friends attended NMS in Yola, we graduated from thesame University of maiduguri, I do seen them with that same Uniform but now you explain to me,I'm not doubting you, but I will still show them to confirm because they are now comission officers tru short service starting with the Rank of Second leutanant.

NMS(Nigerian Military School) is located in Zaria where children from age range from 10-12 enroll from secondary school education and basic military training and at the end of there schooling were enlisted into d army as soldiers. But for some years now d enlistment and weapon training had been stopped due policy from UN concerning Child Soldier. Ur friend dat u passed from university probably graduated from NMS b4 2008 and he was giving sponsorship to study in the university and after his degree he went bak for 9months training and got commissioned as a short service officer. NDA(Nigerian defence academy) is a military university where cadets train for a period of 5yrs to get a degree and commissioned into d armed forces of Nigeria(army, navy n airforce).

So many things have changed with time....

But Baba refuse to change.....in thinking, militarism, ego, bigotry, ethnocentrism and even in age. He only showed some visible changes in his LOOKS cos no one can cheat nature.

The 60s picture is of Calabar and Ikwerre girls recruited in the field to spy, cook and warm the beds of the 3rd marine commandos soldiers during the war. None of them were eventually absorbed into the Nigerian army after the war.
Next time learn to give reference to whom it's due. That was Brig.Gen Alabi-Isama speaking

How do you know?

General Alabi Isama told me from his book titled Tragedy of Victory. And he should know. He was the second in command of the 3rd marine commandos under Adekunle and Olusegun Obasanjo.

They are regular female Officer cadets in Nigerian Defence Academy (on training to become commissioned officers in the armed forces) the 2 white bars insignia on there shoulder flap shows they are second termers meaning they are in two hundred level students wen compared to a conventional university system.
Plus the colors of their epaulet is an indication of what battalion they belong...eg
(1) Abyssinia Battalion

(2) Burma Battalion

(3) Dalet Battalion

(4) Mogadishu Battalion

(5) Ashanti Battalion

The caps / hats indicates some are Airforce cadets and the others might branch into the Army or Navy eventually...I try nah

That's the problem with us Nigerians...we don't know how to quote people or even understand copy rights etc...you nailed the fellow there. If you hadn't read the book you would think that the information was original cheesy
