it has been mostly monochrome green , guess u did not notice before

the eye is most sensitive to green color.
our eyes see green better than any other color in both day and night.
also green lights work best because they are NVG compatible.

no idea on German Tornados

yes lights from the MFDs be turned down to pilots personal preference

NVG different thing, no connection to Targeting pod.

NVG allows u see the inside of cockpit at pitch dark conditions and around immediate vicinity of aircraft, targeting pods with FLIR etc allow u to see targets at long ranges during day/night via projection of captured/live image onto ur MFD.

pic 1 2 present LCA airforce navy and trainer versions cockpit , LCA MK1A may or may not have the same configuration , no idea

pic 3 users insisting on cockpit NG for LCA MK2 , will have to wait.
