Nigeria standard of education is very low, we aren't well taught at all, the environment is not conducive for learning, no unlimited internet to aid learning. I don't understand why Nigeria is like this. Sometimes I just feel I made a mistake schooling here.

imagine the Hostel in OAU

and that of Cambridge

The difference dey very clear.
Good study and hygienic environment..

Regular water, regular power supply plus free internet service 24/7.
How you wan compete with them.
Most technical colleges in the U.S are far more equipped than our universities.

Not that we can't be like those, but our greedy leaders and policy makers will not allow us.

rubbish! most of the univerties are filled with NGs.

Well the ranking is about universities, not the nationalities of the students in the university. (even though you will discover total population of Nigeria students in those schools will be really minor compared with many other countries)

There are so many things wrong with the education system in Nigeria has had been mentioned by different posters.

Looking at the criteria, it would take a lot and a long time of consistent quality before any Nigerian uni will be in that list. And the quality improvement will not be in the education sector alone, but in every other important metrics for measuring a country's success.

An example: A graduate from OAU has an excellent career, ending as CEO of GT Bank. GT Bank is not one of the top companies in the world, so that achievement will not count towards any point for OAU. Same will apply other criteria. A graduate of Unibadan who has many international awards to her name is not likely to want to lecture at a Nigerian university, when brighter prospects exists at some of the other top universities elsewhere in the world.
