A shameless couple have been forced to apologise after being caught performing a public sex act close to a busy street.

The pair, a 21-year-old woman and 24-year-old man, handed themselves in when explicit grainy footage of them together was posted online.

The duo, from USA and Ireland respectively, were made to apologise publicly by waiing - a slight bow - for the cameras before being fined the equivalent of £43 each.

The couple, said to be exchange students, explained that they had been drinking at the time of the incident on the party island of Koh Phi Phi, Thailand, on July 18 at 7.30pm, the Phuket News reports.


After hearing that they were wanted over charges of indecent exposure and committing and indecent act in public they immediately handed themselves in.

Furious locals filmed the couple as they carried out their business outside the Hussin House Hotel.
